Metoprolol Tartrate Drug Loading and Release from Prepared Mesoporous Silica; Kinetic of Adsorption and Release
...Show More Authors

Mesoporous silica was developed to transport metoprolol tartrate (MPT). The data obtained from the kinetic experiments of adsorption of 15 ppm of MPT drug at 293 K was fitted in the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion models. The results show that the adsorption process obeys the pseudo-first-order equation and the rate-controlling step, not just the intraparticle diffusion step. The MPT drug load onto mesoporous silica was 15.13 mg/g. The release profile shows that the MPT drug was about 55% released after 40 min when released in water, while in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) media, the release reached 90% after 60 min at body temperature (37°C). Three kinetic release versions, including first-order, K

Efficient Embedded Diagonal Implicit Runge-Kutta Method for Directly Solving Third Order ODEs
...Show More Authors

This paper presents two important contributions to the field of numerical analysis for third-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs). First, a new class of direct implicit Runge-Kutta (RK) processes, called RKTDIO, is introduced as solutions to third-order ODEs. Secondly, it develops the ERKTDIO method, which is an embedded pairwise diagonal implicit RK method. The study begins by introducing the theory of relevant-colored trees and B-series as fundamental concepts. By utilizing the order constraints, two RKTDIO methods are derived: a fifth-order method with three stages and a sixth-order method with four stages. In addition, an embedded method called ERKTDIO6(5) is derived, which has orders six and five. The derivation of the embed

Evaluation of GRHPR Enzyme and some Biochemical Variables in Patients with Calcium Oxalate Kidney Stone Disease
...Show More Authors

Kidney stone disease is a highly significant clinical issue that poses a serious threat to both global health and the economy. For the sustainability of good health and well-being of kidney stone patients, this study  aimed to elucidate the role of the enzyme glyoxylate reductase and hydroxypyruvate reductase (GRHPR) in formation of the kidney stones and their development. There are many different types of kidney stones, but calcium oxalate kidney stones are the most prevalent in Iraq. In this study, 50 Iraqi patients with calcium oxalate stones (25 males and 25 females) were compared to 30 healthy control groups (17 males and 13 females). The biochemical tests for kidney function, such as serum urea, creatinine, and uric acid, were det

Identification the Effective Compounds of Pumpkin Seeds and its Possibility of Application in Some Food Products
...Show More Authors

This study included the use of local pumpkin seeds of Iraqi origin, which were examined in the Seed Examination and Certification Department. It was found that they are from the plant family Cucurbitaceae Jass, and their exact scientific name is Cucuriba pepo L. This study aims to use the local Iraqi pumpkin seeds and study their effective compounds to apply these seeds to some foods. The pumpkin seeds were dried at room temperature after they were peeled, cleaned, and washed. The fiber and proximate analysis were conducted. After that, the aqueous and alcoholic extraction of the defatted and non-defatted pumpkin seeds was carried out to detect the active compounds such as tannins, glycosides, coumarins, flavonoids, resins, and saponins.

Treatment of Epoxy Surface by DBD Cold Atmospheric
...Show More Authors

The current study focuses on the surface modification of an air dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at atmospheric pressure on a polymer (epoxy). Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Hardness and Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) were used to characterize the material. Plasma was used to expose the epoxy sample for (0, 10, 20, and 30 min). The AFM study shows an increase in the time of plasma treatment and an increase in the parameter of roughening, in which the surface of the material is roughened by the plasma treatment. This plasma-induced morphological modification of the epoxy surface will also contribute to enhancing the wettability. In the DSC test, the stability of the glass transition temper

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the synovial joints and produces recurring inflammation of the synovial membrane, which ultimately causes joint degeneration, deformity, and disability. The current study included 110 blood samples collected from patients infected with rheumatoid arthritis (60) and 50 blood samples from controls. The results showed that investigation of some hematological tests revealed a high significant erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) for the patient group compared to the control group (28.25 ± 2.72, 16.24 ± 1.83), respectively. Theoretical Calculation of Reorientation Energy in Metal /Semiconductor Interface

A theoretical calculation of the reorientation energy for non adiabatic electron transfer at
interface between metal and semiconductor system was carried out. The continuum outer
sphere theory of electron transfer reaction has been extensively used for electron transfer
between metal/semiconductor interface .It is found that in these calculations the reorientation
energy is proportional to the optical and statistical dielectric constant of semiconductor ,
properties of metal ,and the distance between metal and semiconductor .Results of
reorientation energy show that ZnO semiconductor with metal Au possess a good matching as

the Optical Properties of Electrostatic Design and Study Mirror By using Bimurzaev Technique

The electron beam path using the Bimurzaev  technique had been investigated as mirror trajectory with the aid of Runge – Kutta  method. The spherical and chromatic aberration coefficients of mirror has computed and normalized in terms of the focal length. The choice of the mirror depends on the operational requirements. The Electrode shape of mirror two electrodes has been determined by using package SIMION computer program. Computations have shown that the suggested potentials giv

A Theoretical Investigation of Enhanced Thermoelectric Figure of Merit of Low-Dimensional Structures
...Show More Authors

The power factors and electronic thermal conductivities in bismuth telluride (Bi2Te3), lead-telluride (PbTe), and gallium arsenide (GaAs) at room temperature (300K) quantum wires and quantum wells are theoretically investigated. Our formalism rigorously takes into account modification of these power factors and electronic thermal conductivities in free-surface wires and wells due to spatial confinement. From our numerical results, we predict a significant increase of the power factor in quantum wires with diameter w=20 Ã…. The increase is always stronger in quantum wires than in quantum wells of the corresponding dimensions. An unconfined phonon distribution assumed based on the bulk lattice thermal conductivity is then employed
