The present study was carried out to investigate the effect of oral administration of hot aqueous extract of beetle cocoon Larinus maculatus Faldermann, in a two doses 50
and100mg/Kg/Bw for 25 and 45days respect- tively on some organs such as liver, lung, kidney, intestine, heart, spleen, and brain in male mice Mus musculus. The results indicated that there were toxicopathological changes in many tissues of experimental animals. Histo -pathological changes was dose and period dependent . It was found that the aqueous extract of beetle cocoon has undesirable effect at the administered doses, since the raw extract of this cocoon is currently being used in Folk medicine as treatment for cough, bronchitis in Iraq. Therapeutic Trial of Modified Levofloxacin (MOLVX) Against Induced Colorectal Aberrant Crypt Foci (Precancerous Tissue) in Mice
...Show More Authors

Colorectal cancer ranks as the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally. ‎Fluoroquinolones, particularly Levofloxacin, have garnered interest for their potential anti-cancer effects, primarily due to their high affinity ‎for metallic ions like copper. This affinity enhances their spectrum of activity and enables greater interaction with DNA in cancer cells, ‎thereby inhibiting proliferation. Building on our prior work, where we synthesized copper-modified Levofloxacin (MOLVX), this study ‎explores its therapeutic potential in treating precancerous colorectal lesions, known as Aberrant Crypt Foci (ACF), in a murine model. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) presented the size of AgNPs to be 50 nm. Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) was used to examine the presence of elemental silver. The three-dimensional structure of silver nanoparticles was discovered using an atomic force microscope (AFM), with a diameter of 47.18 nm on average.
