...Show More Authors

This study was conducted to extract and titrate the leukotoxin of Fusobacterium
necrophorum isolates recovered from 75abscesses found in 24 livers of slaughtered cattle in
Sulaimaniyah region. The culture supernatants of these isolates were subjected to the
tetrazolium dye reduction test which revealed that the leukotoxin titer values of 34 F.
necrophorum subsp. necrophorum isolates ranged from 128 to 1024 (with a leukotoxin titer
mean of 516±46), whereas the leukotoxin titer values of the 11 F. necrophorum subsp.
funduliforme isolates ranged from 0 to 128 (with a leukotoxin titer mean of 73±12).

Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever in Iraq During 2010: Emad S. Abul-Eis , Nabeel A.Mohammad and Suhad M.Wasein
...Show More Authors

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a viral zoonotic disease with a high
mortality rate in humans. CCHF is caused by genus Nairovirus, in family of Bunyaviridae,
and is transmitted to humans through the bite of ticks Hyalomma spp or contact with blood or
tissues of CCHF patients or infected livestock.
The total numbers of positive patients to CCHF virus was 11 out of 44 suspected samples
were examined from eight provinces during the period from January to December 2010 . The
way of transmission is due to contact with blood and tissues of infected animals, and one
patient slaughtered sheep in his house. ELISA was used to detect Crimean-Congo
hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus-specific immunoglobulin M (IgM) in hu

A histological study was conducted to examine the structure of optic tectum in Clemmys caspica caspica. The results showed that the optic tectum consist of seven strata and the third stratum consists of three substrata, as follows: The stratum zonula (SZ), the stratum opticum (SO), the stratum griseum et fibrosum superficiale (SGFS) which consist of three substrata are a, b, c, the stratum griseum centrale (SGC), the stratum album centrale (SAC), the stratum griseum periventriculare (SGP), and the stratum album periventriculare (SAP). The stratum zonula (SZ) was the thinnest stratum in the optic tectum and its main thickness was (17-19) μm, while the stratum griseum et fibrosum superficiale (SGFS) was the thickest and its main thickness

The present Study Showed that the falciform process and vitereal vessels is extended upper to retina, which are found only in S. triostegus . The visual cells in both fishes have cones and rods with myoid element, myoids are inconspicuous in S. triostegus . The cones in S. triostegus are large but in L. abu found in four types, long single cones, short single cones, dwarf cones and twin cones. It appears that the cones in L. abu arranged as mosaic include square and row patterns, but they are distributed randomly in S. triostegus , also the cones in L. abu have lateral fins which are lack in S. triostegus .The result showed that three types of ganglion cells, long, medium and small as well as there is additional type called Giant ganglio

This study was designed to investigate the correlation of various stress factors (PH, moisture contents, temp., and soil texture) on the ability of E.coli OI57:H7 to persist on/in soil on a dairy farm reared under field conditions at the college of Agriculture /University of Bagdad. The prevalence of E. coli O157:H7 in soil samples was determined for the period January to June 2012. The surface kinetics of E.coli O157:H7 onto the soil (surface kinetics), were theoretically achieved by dividing the farm into 3 zones starting from the fens (Z1),5m, and 10 m (Z5, and Z10, respectively) from the farm in three direction (right, left and rear of the farm) . This study was performed on a 10 of local ewes during 24 hours after lambing. Five of the ewes suffering from uterine prolapse (treated group), and other five ewes didn't show uterine prolapse (control group). The study shows a relation between the calcium serum level and incidence of uterine prolapse after lambing. The result of study indicated that, a low level of calcium in the serum of treated group (2.29±0.33 mg/dl) as compared with the level of the calcium in the serum of the control group (6.52±0.30). The results indicated that the calcium deficiency (hypocalcaemia) in the late stage of pregnancy and at the lambing time may lead to uterine prolapse in ewes.

The first was precipitated by acetone and the other was destructed by ether then precipitated with ammonium sulphate. The first extract yielded 2.5gram/ 5 gram of seeds weight; while, the second extract yielded 1.23 gram/ 5 gram of seed weight. Biochemical tests exhibited that lectin and trace amounts of glycosides were presented in the acetone precipitated extract. Whereas, the ether extract contained lectin, tannin, flavonoids, and trace amounts of alkaloids
