Morphohistology and Biometric Characteristics of Cecal Tonsils of Sonali Chicken at Post-Hatching Ages
...Show More Authors

Knowledge of basic structures is prerequisite for acquiring an in-depth idea about the physiology and immunology of the lymphoid system. The study evaluates the age related histomorphometry of cecal tonsil of Sonali chicken at different postnatal stages in Bangladesh as literatures regarding this are very scarce. The investigation was carried out on 25 healthy Sonali chickens representing different stage of postnatal life: days 1, 14, 28, 42, and 56 (n=5). After ethically sacrifice (cervical subluxation method), cecal tonsil was collected and subjected for both gross and histological studies. Haematoxylin and Eosin stain was done for microscopic study. Morphologically, cecal tonsils were located bilaterally at the junction of small and l

Studying the efficacy of giving anthrax toxin as a vaccine intranasally and subcutaneously
...Show More Authors

This study was concerned on the production of Bacillus anthracis
toxin and its use as a vaccine. Two groups of guinea pigs were
immunized with the toxin which was given in a dose of 0.5 ml
subcutaneously to the 1st group while the animals of the 2nd group were
immunized by instillation in the nose 4 drops into each naris. The two
groups were given booster dose 14 days after the 1st dose. The immunized
and control animals were bled by cardiac puncture 20 days after the
booster dose.
In the present study, anthraxin was used as an antigen in Enzyme
Linked Immuno Sorbant Assay (ELISA) to measure the optical density
(OD) obtained from adminsteration of vaccine in two different routes.

Bacterial causes of upper & lower respiratory tract infection in Sheep: Jamal Salman Ali , Hayder Badri Abboud
...Show More Authors

This study was designed to investigate the bacterial species that induce
upper and lower respiratory tract infection in sheep, and to find out any
relationship which may exist between them.
Therefore two groups of sheep were employed. The first group was
suffering from certain respiratory signs. While the second group was apparently
healthy. Each group included 50 sheep. Research samples were collected for a
period of six months from AL-Shulla Abattoir.
Microbiological investigation indicated the isolation of certain
microorganisms from all animals in both groups from nasal cavity, and from 34
lungs of the first group and 16 lungs of the second group. The number of isolates
from the nasal cavity, were 200 fr

infection (PI). Animals were subdivided into 2groups. Results denoted that the
low enviromental temperatures retarded the growth and development of E.

Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) is a food additive commonly consumed as a flavor enhancer. However, both animal models and human clinical reports have established its harmful effects. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of MSG consumption on some hematological parameters and histological sections of brain, small intestine, liver and testis tissues of Swiss Albino mice. Albino mice (n=15) of average weight 27.4gm were randomly assigned into three groups A, B and C in each group (n=5). Treatment groups (A & B) were given 3g and 6g per Kg of body weight of MSG (amount of MSG in a single sachet consumed by human is 3g) respectively. The mice were sacrificed on day fifteenth of the experiment. Brain, small intestine, liver and t

The changes in the reproductive tract and the behavioural manifestations expressed during the cycle indicated that the experimental mares were exhibiting estrous year arround, however, 75% of the cycles were observed during the months from March to August and 25% during the. rest of the year.
