The objective was to investigate the clinical, bacteriological, and molecular characteristics of these infections. A total of 115 samples were collected from 100 racehorses, consisting of 85 nasal swabs from horses without abscesses and 30 samples (15 nasal swabs and 15 abscess samples) from 15 horses with abscesses. The bacterium was identified based on traditional bacteriological diagnostic methods and confirmed using PCR amplification of the seeI gene. PCR detected a 34% infection rate.      Three hundred samples of stool were collected from children, who are suffering from diarrhea, during the period from October to December 2016 at Fatima Al Zahra and Shaheed al-Sadr hospitals. All bacterial isolates have been submitted to the cultural, microscopical, biochemical examinations, and Vitek 2 system identification to identify Aeromonas isolates. All the isolates under study were tested for their ability to the production of certain factors associated with virulence. It has been concluded that 12 (4%) of collected samples were positive to Aeromonas Spp. The virulence factors of Aeromonas spp. were detected and showed that all the isolates have the ability to produce haemolysin

Development and Characterization of Lornoxicam-Infused Ocular Gel for Effective Treatment of Ocular Inflammation in Domestic Cats
...Show More Authors

Lornoxicam (LOX) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) effective in managing ocular inflammation. Traditional delivery methods like liquid drops are cleared rapidly and may not provide sustained therapeutic levels, necessitating the development of an ocular gel formulation. Mucoadhesive polymers such as hyaluronic acid (HA), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), and Carbopol have been identified as suitable excipients to modify drug release profiles. This study aims to formulate an effective ophthalmic 0.1% w/w lornoxicam gel administered to pets for topical and continuous drug release, enhancing therapeutic efficacy while minimizing possible side effects. Eight formulations of lornoxicam ocular gel

THE EFFECT OF SUB-CLINICAL INFECTION WITH HARMONCHUS CONTORTUS ON BODY WEIGHT OF LAMBS AND MILK PRODUCTION IN EWES
...Show More Authors

The effect of sub-clinical level of H. contortus infection (500 larvae/kg. bodyweight) over the lambing period and first 6 weeks of lactation on lambs birth weight, milk yield and composition were noted. This level of infection was significantly reflected (5%) on lamb birth weight, while lamb weight gain was not markedly affected. During lactation, infected ewes produced 14% less milk and this was highly significant at 1% level, despite the associated fall in egg count. Infected ewes showed a significant reduction (5%) in the milk protein percentage, while milk fat percentage was not substantially affected. Thus the ewe appears to be particularly susceptible to the effect of parasitism at this time.

Bacterial Contamination in the Components of the Chickens' Eggs: S. A. Abed, S.M. Heeder , Z.G.Mohammed
...Show More Authors

In 120 hen eggs ( local eggs , hatching eggs and table eggs ) a bacteriological
pollution with high rate was observed by isolating 427 bacterial isolates from
which 199 isolates related to the egg's shell , 117 isolates related to albumen sac,
and 111 isolates related to yolk sac .
The Salmonella ssp isolates were the greater number (142 isolates) ,
Echerichia coli ( 138 isolates ) , Streptococcus ssp ( 89 isolated) and lately
Staphylococcus ssp ( 58 isolates ) which was never isolated from internal egg
components (Albumen Sac and yolk sac) .
The study explains that the shell of the egg is more contaminated than
Albumen Sac and yolk sac and that the table egg is more contaminated than the
other groups.

The effect of temperature and pH on the stability of the antibacterial
“tilmicosin” was evaluated in this study. The temperature degrees studied were
25 , 45 and 65 oC each for 24 hours , while the pH values studied were 6 , 7 and

A microbiological assay method was employed for analysis of the collected
samples.
The results of analysis indicate significant drop in activity of the drug as a
results of exposure to temperature or pH.
The above mentioned results necessitate the maintenance of drinking water in
the storage depots of the field below 65 oC especially in summer season, so to

This experiment includes 228 local Awassi ewes between 2 to 5 years
old. The aim of this experiment was to estimate the fetal age by
measurement of transthoracic, transabdominal, cotyledon length and width
during different period of gestation by using 5MHz real-time
ultrasonography. Linear, quadratic and cubic equations were described,
which adjust the relationship between the gestation age and each of
transthoracic, transabdominal, cotyledon length and width. Results indicated
that the quadratic equations of transthoracic and transabdominal were the
best equations; while the cubic equations of each of the cotyledon length and
width were the best equations to estimate the fetal age
