تعد السُّنة المطهرة المصدر الثاني من مصادر التشريع، وبها يــُـفسر القرآن الكريم، فهي إما مبينة لمجمله وإما مقيدة لمطلقه أو مخصصه لعامه أو مشرعة لحكم جديد في القرآن، ولهذا كان الرسول عليه الصلاة والسلام يقـول: (أوتيت القرآن ومثله معه). والتفسير بالسُّنة المطهرة يـُعد الركن الذي لا يقوم التفسير بأي شكل من أشكاله بدونه، فقد كان الرسول (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، هو الواسطة بين الله تعالى، وبين الناس، والقرآن هو معجزت
