A Smishing Detection Method Based on SMS Contents Analysis and URL Inspection Using Google Engine and VirusTotal
...Show More Authors

Smishing is the delivery of phishing content to mobile users via a short message service (SMS). SMS allows cybercriminals to reach out to mobile end users in a new way, attempting to deliver phishing messages, mobile malware, and online scams that appear to be from a trusted brand. This paper proposes a new method for detecting smishing by combining two detection methods. The first method is uniform resource locators (URL) analysis, which employs a novel combination of the Google engine and VirusTotal. The second method involves examining SMS content to extract efficient features and classify messages as ham or smishing based on keywords contained within them using four well-known classifiers: support vector machine (SVM), random

Groundwater situation before production and after production stoppage in Al-Mishraq Sulfur field-1, northern Iraq
...Show More Authors

This study dealt with the reality of groundwater before Sulfur production in the Al-Mishraq field-1 and after production stopped in the field, by measuring the groundwater table for (44) wells in 2021, and comparing it to the groundwater table measured by the Polish company Centrozap in 1971, the groundwater table was a range between (187.71-205.8)m in 1971, but in 2021 it ranged was between (188.51-196.55)m.
Maps of the groundwater movement and water table were created using these data. It turned out that there was little change in the direction of groundwater flow; in both cases, the flow is from the west and northwest towards the east with a slight slope toward the southeast and the Tigris River. As for hydraulic properties, it w

Beam Shaping Technique for 5-mm Fiber-coupled Laser Diode Bars with Lens Group
...Show More Authors

In the last few years, fiber-coupled diode lasers have shown massive applications in many fields of communication and scientific research. Particularly, the pumping of solid-state lasers is a key application for more powerful diode lasers enabling good solutions in various laser micro methods like metal cutting, sintering, structuring as well as drilling. In this work, a simple beam shaping method is demonstrated for coupling a high-power semiconductor laser diode into multi-mode fiber optic using optical lenses. The optical lenses as beam transformation components are utilized to reshape the asymmetrical irradiation of the diode laser bar and to circularize the laser beam. Using this simple method, compact, high-output-power, and high-b

Texture recognition is used in various pattern recognition applications and texture classification that possess a characteristic appearance. This research paper aims to provide an improved scheme to provide enhanced classification decisions and to decrease processing time significantly. This research studied the discriminating characteristics of textures by extracting them from various texture images using discrete Haar transform (DHT) and discrete Fourier transform DFT. Two sets of features are proposed; the first set was extracted using the traditional DFT, while the second used DHT. The features from the Fourier domain are calculated using the radial distribution of spectra, while for those extracted from Haar Wavelet the statistical

Soil acts as a last sink for elements that people release into the environment through a range of activities due to its physiochemical characteristics. These substances, whether are organic or mineral pollutants, accumulate in the soil and constitute a significant risk to the ecosystem in general because they mess with the chemical and physical equilibrium of the soil, get into the food chain, and eventually get to people. When pollutant concentrations during the bioaccumulated process exceed the global standards for what is regarded as a contaminant in water, air, and soil.      In this study, we propose a suitable solution for a non-linear system of ordinary differential equations (ODE) of the first order with the initial value problems (IVP) that contains multi variables and multi-parameters with missing real data. To solve the mentioned system, a new modified numerical simulation method is created for the first time which is called Mean Latin Hypercube Runge-Kutta (MLHRK). This method can be obtained by combining the Runge-Kutta (RK) method with the statistical simulation procedure which is the Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) method. The present work is applied to the influenza epidemic model in Australia in 1919  for a previous study. The comparison between the numerical and numerical simulation res

A global pandemic has emerged as a result of the widespread coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Deep learning (DL) techniques are used to diagnose COVID-19 based on many chest X-ray. Due to the scarcity of available X-ray images, the performance of DL for COVID-19 detection is lagging, underdeveloped, and suffering from overfitting. Overfitting happens when a network trains a function with an  incredibly high variance to represent the training data perfectly. Consequently, medical images lack the availability of large labeled datasets, and the annotation of medical images is expensive and time-consuming for experts. As the COVID-19 virus is an infectious disease, these datasets are scarce, and it is difficult to get large datasets
