Isolation and identification of Citrobacter freundii from chicken meat samples using cultural and molecular techniques

Because of Citrobacter freundii medical and economical importance and that there are only little local studies about it, this study aimed to isolate and identify this important bacterial species from others that have a similar biochemical and morphological characteristics. Twenty five chicken meat samples were collected randomly from local markets in Baghdad city during 2017; Citrobacter was isolated from the collected samples using selective and differential media and identified using biochemical tests, the identification was confirmed using Vitek 2 compact and polymerase chain reaction for 16S rRNA and the isolated bacteria identified as C. freundii.

The dynamics of two harmful phytoplankton and herbivorous zooplankton system

In this paper, a mathematical model consisting of the two harmful
phytoplankton interacting with a herbivorous zooplankton is proposed and studied.
The existence of all possible equilibrium points is carried out. The dynamical
behaviors of the model system around biologically feasible equilibrium points are
studied. Suitable Lyapunov functions are used to construct the basins of attractions
of those points. Conditions for which the proposed model persists are established.
The occurrence of local bifurcation and a Hopf bifurcation are investigated. Finally,
to confirm our obtained analytical results and specify the vital parameters, numerical
simulations are used for a hypothetical set of parameter values.

Cyclic voltametry and spectrophotometry were used to characterize the hemoglobin (Hb) bioconjunction with AgNPs and CS. Results of the modified electrode showed quasi-reversible redox peaks with a formal potential of (-0.245V) versus Ag/AgCl in 0.1M phosphate buffer solution (PBS), pH7, at a scan rate of 0.1Vs-1. In this study, 60 urine samples were collected from healthy volunteer individuals (both males and females) residing in the Tuwaitha region (aged 20-60 years) and compared with 30 urine samples from individuals living in another area of Baghdad, far from AL- Tuwaitha nuclear site (aged 20-60 years). The uranium concentration of these samples was measured using a solid-state nuclear track detector CR-39. The results indicated that the average uranium concentration for the Tuwaitha group was 0.507±0.032μg/L, which is higher than the permissible limits set by the World Health Organization, which is 0.3μg/L. The main purpose of this paper is to develop the properties of Rickart modules .
