Effect of Shaliness on Water Saturation Estimation: Case Study of TN Field Niger Delta
...Show More Authors

This study was carried out to estimate the effect of shaliness on water saturation from TN field of Niger Delta. The conventional Archie and the Shaly-sand water saturation models was used in the evaluation of wells. Two sand bodies (Sand 01 and 02) were mapped with thicknesses range from 76.8ft to 119.3ft across the three wells for Sand 01 and 187.5 to 339.9ft across wells TN_1 and TN_4 for Sand 02. The cross plot of the effective porosity (φe) versus volume of shale (Vsh) show a decrease in the effective porosity with an increase in shale volume. This reveals a laminated shale pattern across the reservoir sands. The estimations from the conventional method and the Shaly-sand models of Simandoux and Indonesia show a clear disparity due

This work aim to study the effect of silver nanoparticles on fluorescence intensity of Coumarin 480 dye by using the sandwiches technique where AgNP layer had been separated from C480 layer by different type of materials such as silica, PMMA polymer and PVA polymer layer. Silver nanoparticles had been prepared by the chemical reduction method so the AgNP layer coating had been done by hot rotation liquid method. The optical properties of prepared samples had been tested by using UV-VIS absorption spectrophotometer and Fluorescence spectrophotometer. Morphology, average size and the structure of nanoparticles were estimated using AFM, SEM testes

Optical fibers were produced by the system manufactured for this purpose and then, PMMA core of polymer optical fiber (POF) and PMMA doped Rhodamine B (RhB) claddings were studied and determine their UV–vis absorption and emission. The study adopted the mechanism of lateral pumping of the product polymer optical fiber by using laser with 404 nm excitation to study optical specifications of the factory fiber. It was noted that there were blue shift in maximum peak wavelength in absorption and fluorescence from the doped polymer before use it as clad. The obtained results by using the doping polymer with (RhB) for clad the amplified spontaneous emission ASE seems in fluorescence study. The side excitation shows that there were no an over

Escherichia coli  infections are becoming difficult treated because of extensive resistance to antibiotic among these organisms and manufacturing extended-spectrum beta lactamases enzymes (ESBLs) make them resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics. This study aims to offer a summary of the main horizontal transmission  apparatuses  between E. coli as well as  Staphylococcus aureus and emergence resistance to antibiotics. Fifty of the E. coli and  50 of S. aureus isolates were examined to obtain minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) results. These isolates were then tested by  conventional polymerase chain-reaction for the existence or absenc

In this work, calcium ions were determined by the addition to the allyl chloride monomer resulting from bulk polymerization formation. To acquire the highest adsorption capacity, molar ratios of the template, monomer, and cross-linking agent, as well as solvents and multiple monomers were investigated. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) were used to analyze the calcium ion polymer. The elution of calcium had a small effect on the surfaces of the three-dimensional network structure. Calcium (II) ions were successfully eluted using a mixture of methanol and acetic acid. The calcium adsorption capacities were 3.8145 and 9.01773 mol/g (Qmax), respectively. A Langmuir isot

Using a Wavelet Based Method for High Resolution Satellite Image Fusion

The number and quality of commercially available multispectral sensors and the
data they provide are continually improving, but there is always compromise
between achieving high spatial resolution, necessary for those applications that
require high degree of detail, and high spectral resolution when a better feature
discrimination level is needed. However, there are some situations that
simultaneously require high spatial and spectral resolutions in a single image. The
techniques of data fusion, or data merging, provide an alternative to that constraint,
being used to combine low-resolution multispectral satellite imagery with higher

phenomenon, the function Water Index (WI) is used to identify changes in water
content of the marsh during different periods of time. Landsat satellite data is used
of sensors MSS for the years 1974 &1992 and sensors TM 1984 and ETM sensors

DIGITAL IMAGES EDGE DETECTION USING MATHEMATICAL MORPHOLOGY OPERATIONS
...Show More Authors

The field of mathematical morphology contributes a wide range of operators to image processing, all based around a few simple mathematical concepts from set theory. The two most basic operations in mathematical morphology are erosion and dilation, both of these operators take two pieces of data as input; an image to be eroded or dilated, and a structuring element. Opening and closing are two important operators from mathematical morphology; they are both derived from the fundamental operations of erosion and dilation. The primary application of mathematical morphology in this work occurs in binary images throw applying erosion and dilation operations to extract boundary edges, and then basic morphology operations are adopted to grey leve

SVD is an information retrieval uses numerical decomposition methods to compute

CLASSICAL ARABIC POETRY CATEGORIZATION USING N-GRAM FREQUENCY STATISTICS

Most of the Arabic language vocabulary is built from the roots derivation. These roots are words composed of three to five consonants letters. Any performance in Arabic language for the purpose of information retrieval needs to deal with the language morphological and structural changes first (which is called the stemming process) then a statistical method for extracting information is implemented. This approach presents a method for categorizing the Classical Arabic Poetry (CAP) into its categorizations: Ghazal, Medeh, Wasef, Hijaa',..etc. by combining the algorithm of a light stemmer (which identify sets of prefixes and suffixes in an Arabic word in order to reach to the word root after removing the suffixes and prefixes) with "N-gram"

A new simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Bromhexine Hydrochloride in pure form and pharmaceutical preparations. The method is based on the diazotization reaction of Bromhexine Hydrochloride with sodium nitrite in hydrochloric acid medium to form diazonium salt, which is coupled with chromotropic acid to form a red water-soluble azo dye, that has a maximum absorption at λmax = 507 nm. Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range (2-60 μg.ml-1) with RSD less than 2.050% and molar absorptivity of 1.569x104 l.mol-1.cm-1 and Sandell sensitivity of 0.0262 μg.cm-2. Edge Detection in an Image by Using the Elimination Rule
...Show More Authors

Edges are significant local changes of intensity in an image. In this paper, an
elimination rule which based on triangular inequality elimination (TIE) has been
adopted to perform the edge detection procedures. A new method has been included
the combining between an elimination rule which based on triangular inequality
elimination (TIE) and the differentiation operator by using the filters mask in one
dimension. The introduced algorithm has been produced a good image quality by
comparison with that which may be obtained by using the differentiation operator of
sharpening an image. The proposed algorithm has been proved it is good for finding
the edge in an image data.

The Gas Assisted Gravity Drainage (GAGD) process has become one of the most important processes to enhance oil recovery in both secondary and tertiary recovery stages and through immiscible and miscible modes.  Its advantages came from the ability to provide gravity-stable oil displacement for improving oil recovery, when compared with conventional gas injection methods such as Continuous Gas Injection (CGI) and Water – Alternative Gas (WAG).

Vertical injectors for CO2   gas were placed at the top of the reservoir to form a gas cap which drives the oil towards the horizontal oil producing wells which are located above the oil-water-contact. The GAGD process was developed and tested in vertical wel
