Application of Hydrophilic Lipophilic Difference Theory for Fenofibrate Formulation as a Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System
...Show More Authors

Improved oral bioavailability of lipophilic substances can be achieved using self-emulsifying drug delivery systems. However, because the properties of self-emulsifying are greatly influenced by surfactant amount and type, type of oil used, droplet size, charge, cosolvents, and physiological variables, the synthesis of self-emulsifying is highly complex; consequently, only a small number of excipient self-emulsifying formulations has been developed so far for clinical use. This study reports a highly effective procedure for developing self-emulsifying formulations using a novel approach based on the hydrophilic-lipophilic difference theory. Microemulsion characteristics, such as the constituents and amounts of oil and surfactant electrolyte concentration and temperature, were optimized to produce high-quality self-emulsifying drug delivery systems. Furthermore, in vitro lipolysis and in vivo bioavailability studies of fenofibrate, a highly lipophilic oral drug, loaded self-emulsifying dosage form were conducted. The self-emulsifying drug delivery system used in this study comprised soybean oil, water with a specific salinity, sodium dioctyl sulphosuccinate as a surfactant, and orlistat as a lipase inhibitor. The hydrophilic-lipophilic difference-based approach involved fewer experiments and allowed for the development of an efficient self-emulsifying dosage form with a relatively low surfactant concentration when compared to previous works. The salinity and equivalent alkane carbon number were optimized, with the proper selection of the type and amount of surfactant, to obtain a bicontinuous microemulsion (Winsor type III) that can be fully diluted with water. In vitro lipolysis was investigated in fasting and feeding settings, which showed a significant dosage form digestion by lipase enzyme; orlistat was successfully used to overcome dosage digestion and drug precipitation problem. In vivo experiments in rats involved oral gavage with a self-emulsifying dosage form containing fenofibrate (20 mg/kg). The pharmacokinetic profile of fenofibric acid showed remarkable enhancement in the bioavailability (F-95%). These findings demonstrate that the hydrophilic-lipophilic difference approach is a practical, scalable, and easy technique for self-emulsifying drug delivery system formulation development. Tracy Letts’ August: Osage County as a Paradigm of Bad Parenting
...Show More Authors

One’s character is shaped by the family he/she has and the way he/she is raised up. Bad parents affect their children tragically, and the later consequences, the parents are the ones who pay for being bad ones. Tracy Letts explores the dark side of family life in his domestic play August: Osage County (2007), one of the most well-known contemporary plays of American theatre in the twenty-first century. The playwright presents the Westons as an embodiment of the image of family disconnected relationships due to bad parenting. Violet is a model of a bad mother who plays a prominent role in destroying her family. The impact of bad parenting is revealed in the circle of the formerly abused children who turned to be abusers of their children o

Criminal Protection of Human Genome “Human Gene Editing as a Model”

Lawful protection of the human gene conceded a moral concern regarding the future of existence human. After the discovery of the human genetic map, scientific experiments and research related to the human gene increased, negative applications of genetic engineering  in particular that violate essential human rights,  the right to human dignity to be specific. These practices represent actual challenges to the existence and diversity of current and future generations. Therefore, the presence of legal rules at the domestic and global levels is an absolute necessity to prohibit these threats and determine civil and criminal accountability for those who infringe any laws related to this issue.

Silence as a Means of Communication in Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker
...Show More Authors

Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker(1959) clearly portrays a lack of communication among the characters of the play which refers to the condition of modern man. This failure of communication led Harold Pinter to use a lot of pauses and silences in all the plays he wrote instead of words. Samuel Beckett preceded Pinter in doing so in his plays and one way to express the bewilderment of modern man during the 20th century is through the use of no language in the dramatic works. Language is no more important to modern man; instead, he uses silence to express his feelings. Silence is more powerful than the words themselves. That’s why long and short pauses can be seen throughout all Pinter’s plays.

In this play, th

Mass Transport Properties of a Flow-Through Electrolytic Reactor Using Zinc Reduction System
...Show More Authors

An electrolytic process for the removal of Zn(II) from aqueous solution using a parallel amalgamated copper screens cathode operated in the flow through mode is proposed. The current-potential curves recorded at a rotating amalgamated copper disc electrode were used to determine diffusion coefficient of Zn(II). The performance of electrolytic reactor was investigated by using different flow rates at initial zinc ion concentration(48 mg/L). Taking into account the residential Zn(II) concentration, the best results were obtained for cathode potential of (-1.35 V vs. SCE) at flow rate (320 L/h). Zinc ion concentration was found to decrease from 48 mg/L to 1 mg/L during 120 min. of electrolysis. The experimental data are well correlate
