Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation the Corrosion Inhibition for Carbon Steel in H2SO4 Solution of Several New Thiourea Derivatives

This research includes synthesis of some new thiourea derivatives by two route, the first route include synthesis of 1-aroyl-3-aryl thiourea derivatives (1-17) by a reaction of substituted carboxylic acids with thionyl chloride then the resultant compounds treated the result with potassium thiocyanate to afford the corresponding 1-aroyl isothiocyanate which react directly with primary and secondary aryl amines. The second route, bromo benzene was allowed to react with potassium thiocyanate to afford the corresponding phenylisothiocyanate which was directly reacted with primary and secondary aryl amines to yield 1-phenyl-3-aryl thiourea derivatives (18- 28).The purity of the synthesized compounds were checked by measuring the melting point,Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and their structure, were identified by spectral methods [FTIR,1 H-NMR and 13C-NMR].furthermore, these compounds were investigated as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel at 303 K in 1M H2SO4 solution by using weight loss method, the results showed that maximum inhibition efficiency of some 1-aroyl-3-aryl thiourea derivatives and 1-phenyl-3-aryl thiourea derivatives are ranging between (83-94) %.

Synthesis of Carbon Nano Rods from Plastic Waste (PP) Using MgO AS A Catalyst

    In this research, CNRs have been synthesized using pyrolysis of plastic waste(pp) at 1000 ° C for one hour in a closed reactor made from stainless steel, using magnesium oxide (MgO) as a catalyst. The resultant carbon nano rods were purified and characterized using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The surface characteristics of carbon rods were observed with the Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). In this paper, a new approach was suggested to the method of Gauss Seidel through the controlling of equations installation before the beginning of the method in the traditional way. New structure of equations occur after the diagnosis of the variable that causes the fluctuation and the slow extract of the results, then eradicating this variable. This procedure leads to a higher accuracy and less number of steps than the old method. Development A Method For Production Of Carbon Nanotubes

Steel mesh container (SSMC) inside which the catalyst (Fe/Al2O3) was placed. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigation method used to study nanotubes produced, showed that high yield of two types of (CNTs) obtained, single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNTs) with diameter and length of less than 50nm and several micrometers respectively and nanocoil tubes with a diameter and length of less than 100nm and several micrometers respectively.
