Prolactin is a Novel Biochemical Marker in Sera of Iraqi Type-2 Diabetic Women With Metabolic Syndrome in Baghdad.
...Show More Authors

Abstract Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a group of clinical and biological abnormalities included risk of insulin resistance , disorders in glucose metabolism , abdominal obesity and abnormal lipid profile these features confer a greater risk of cardiovascular diseases . Anyway, the co-occurrence of diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome potentiates the cardiovascular risk associated with each of the two conditions. The present study aimed to determine a relationship between prolactin level in type -2- diabetic Iraqi women and metabolic syndrome, as well to find a relationship between prolactin level and other studied biochemical markers. seventy menopausal diabetic women with metabolic syndrome with age in range (45-50) years were enrolled in this study , and were compared with matched age control group which consisted of menopausal women suffering from uncomplicated diabetic patients (without metabolic syndrome ). Two groups were not given any treatment , they were newly diagnosed. This study highlights the role of metabolic syndrome in the abnormalities of prolactin blood glucose , lipid profile , glycated hemoglobin and body mass index regardless the role of diabetic mellitus. Available evidence from the present study have reported that prolactin is a novel biochemical marker in sera of Iraqi menopausal type-2 diabetic women with metabolic syndrome . Moreover this study is the first highlights not only the association between lower level prolactin and metabolic syndrome in type-2 diabetic women but also the correlation between lower prolactin level and other biochemical markers ( Lipid profile , HbA1c and BMI ) in type-2- diabetic women with metabolic syndrome . Keywords : Prolactin . metabolic syndrome . type-2- diabetes mellitus . lipid prolile (PDF) Prolactin is a Novel Biochemical Marker in Sera of Iraqi Type-2 Diabetic Women With Metabolic Syndrome in Baghdad.. Effect of Selenium Nanoparticles with Cress Extract on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
...Show More Authors

Selenium is naturally present in the human body, animals, and plants, and is one of the important elements in their growth and maintenance. Recently, the nanoform of selenium has attracted attention due to its low toxicity and a high degree of adsorption compared to its organic and inorganic forms. The current study aimed to examine the effect of Cress leaves (Lepidium sativum L.) extract in combination with selenium nanoparticles in alleviating polycystic ovary syndrome in letrozole-induced PCOS in adult female rats. Nonthermal or cold plasma was used in the synthesis of selenium nanoparticles. Subsequently, the produced nanoparticles were identified, the 30 rats were divided into 6 equal groups, the first group was healthy (negative contr

Anal Fissure: Is it becoming a medical disorder?
...Show More Authors

An anal fissure which does not heal with conservative measures as sits baths and laxatives is a chronic anal fissure. Physiologically, it is the high resting tone of the internal anal sphincter that chiefly interferes with the healing process of these fissures. Until now, the gold standard treatment modality is surgery, either digital anal dilatation or lateral sphincterotomy. However, concerns have been raised about the incidence of faecal incontinence after surgery. Therefore, pharmacological means to treat chronic anal fissures have been explored.A Medline and pub med database search from 1986-2012 was conducted to perform a literature search for articles relating to the non-surgical treatment of chronic anal fissure.Pharmacological s

Abstract
<title>Objective

The study objective was to summarize and evaluate the literature from the last decade about the cost of illness (COI) of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and diabetic macular edema (DME) through a systematic review.

Methods

Author conducted a search of the PubMed, and Google Scholar, electronic databases from January 2014 until July 2024, by identifying the following keywords ‘cost of illness,’ ‘economic burden,’ ‘diabetic retinopathy,’ and ‘diabetic m

Humic acid coated sand as a novel sorbent in permeable reactive barrier for environmental remediation of groundwater polluted with copper and cadmium ions
...Show More Authors

Plantation of humic acid nanoparticles on the inert sand through simple impregnation to obtain the permeable reactive barrier (PRB) for treating of groundwater contaminated with copper and cadmium ions. The humic acid was extracted from sewage sludge which is byproduct of the wastewater treatment plant; so, this considers an application of sustainable development. Batch tests signified that the coated sand by humic acid (CSHA) had removal efficiencies exceeded 98 % at contact time, sorbent dosage, and initial pH of 1 h, 0.25 g/50 mL and 7, respectively for 10 mg/L initial concentration and 200 rpm agitation speed. Results proved that physicosorption was the predominant mechanism for metals-CSHA interaction because the sorption data followed

Synthesis, Characterization and Thermal Study of Some New Metal Ions Complexes with a New Azo 2-((2-(1H-Indol-2- yl)ethyl)diazinyl)-5-aminophenol
...Show More Authors

This research includes the preparation of a new azo 2-((2-(1H-indol-2- yl)ethyl)diazinyl)-5-aminophenol, in which the diazonium salt of 2(1H– Indole–3yl)- ethylamine reacts with a compound 3-aminophenol, and complexes have been prepared with the ions of Ni (II), Pd(II), Pt(IV), and Au(III). The characteristics of compounds include F.A.A, (C. H .N and O), 1H & 13C-NMR, IR, LC-Mass , UV-Vis spectral, DSC/TGA curve, the measurements of magnetic, and molar conductance. Each complex has an amount of [1:1] [M:L] and does not contain electrolytes. Based on the obtained results, molecular structural and geometry have been octahedral geometry suggest of Pt(IV) complex and tetrahedral of Ni (II)complex, the square planar of both Pd(II) and Au(III
