Prolactin is a Novel Biochemical Marker in Sera of Iraqi Type-2 Diabetic Women With Metabolic Syndrome in Baghdad.
...Show More Authors

Abstract Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a group of clinical and biological abnormalities included risk of insulin resistance , disorders in glucose metabolism , abdominal obesity and abnormal lipid profile these features confer a greater risk of cardiovascular diseases . Anyway, the co-occurrence of diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome potentiates the cardiovascular risk associated with each of the two conditions. The present study aimed to determine a relationship between prolactin level in type -2- diabetic Iraqi women and metabolic syndrome, as well to find a relationship between prolactin level and other studied biochemical markers. seventy menopausal diabetic women with metabolic syndrome with age in range (45-50) years were enrolled in this study , and were compared with matched age control group which consisted of menopausal women suffering from uncomplicated diabetic patients (without metabolic syndrome ). Two groups were not given any treatment , they were newly diagnosed. This study highlights the role of metabolic syndrome in the abnormalities of prolactin blood glucose , lipid profile , glycated hemoglobin and body mass index regardless the role of diabetic mellitus. Available evidence from the present study have reported that prolactin is a novel biochemical marker in sera of Iraqi menopausal type-2 diabetic women with metabolic syndrome . Moreover this study is the first highlights not only the association between lower level prolactin and metabolic syndrome in type-2 diabetic women but also the correlation between lower prolactin level and other biochemical markers ( Lipid profile , HbA1c and BMI ) in type-2- diabetic women with metabolic syndrome . Keywords : Prolactin . metabolic syndrome . type-2- diabetes mellitus . lipid prolile (PDF) Prolactin is a Novel Biochemical Marker in Sera of Iraqi Type-2 Diabetic Women With Metabolic Syndrome in Baghdad.. Phonological Metathesis in Iraqi Arabic Dialect: A Synchronic Perspective
...Show More Authors

Phonological metathesis can be defined as an alternation in the normal sequence of two sounds under certain conditions. The present paper is intended to give a detailed synchronic description of phonological metathesis in Iraqi Arabic dialect. For data collection, the researchers have adopted two naturalistic techniques, viz., observation and notes taking. A synchronic analysis is carried out to provide some evidence that describe the sequential change of phonological metathesis in the dialect under investigation. Such sequential changes of metathesized sounds are presented and tabulated. The study concludes with the following finding that this process is not limited to cases where two consonant sounds are transposed, but three consonant

The Detection of Silent Celiac Disease In patients With Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus by the use of Anti Tissue Transglutaminase Antibodies
...Show More Authors

Objective: Detection the presumptive prevalence of silent celiac disease in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus with determination of which gender more likely to be affected.
Methods: One hundred twenty asymptomatic patients [75 male , 45 female] with type 1 diabetes mellitus with mean age ± SD of 11.25 ± 2.85 year where included in the study . All subjects were serologically screened for the presence of anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA antibodies (anti-tTG antibodies) by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) & total IgA was also measured for all using radial immunodiffusion plate . Anti-tissue transglutaminase IgG was selectively done for patients who were expressing negative anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA with low tot

The reality of women's sports in Basra Governorate
...Show More Authors

In our current era, women need to practice sports activities in order to compensate for the lack of movement. The development of life and the introduction of technology in all fields contributed to reducing body movements to the maximum. Many movements were also shortened, and some parts of the body became almost static. All machines became available in homes. Necessary to help women clean and cook. The presence of transportation also restricted women, so the walking sport that women used to practice when they went shopping in nearby places or to visit friends disappeared. As a result, many health problems emerged, prompting some developed countries to allocate financial aid with the help of insurance companies to these patients. The researc

Characterization of a Hydrogel Composite Containing Bioactive Moringa as a Novel Pulp-Capping Material
...Show More Authors

Hydrogels are hydrophilic biocompatible polymers that can be used as a drug delivery material in different medical branches, including vital pulp therapy. The aim of this study is to characterize the physical and biological properties of the newly developed formula as a candidate direct pulp-capping material. The hydrogel composite was prepared from natural and synthetic origins (polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), hyaluronic acid (HA), and sodium alginate (SA)) with the incorporation of bioactive Moringa. Different formulas of hydrogel containing different concentrations were evaluated for physicochemical (FTIR, XRD, SEM, degradation, and swelling), mechanical (viscosity, folding endurance, film thickness), and biological (antioxidant, antibacterial,

Role of Inhibin B and Ratio of Luteinizing: Follicle-Stimulating Hormones in Phenotyping Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
...Show More Authors

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome is among the leading causes of fertility-related problems and menstrual irregularities in women of reproductive age. The granulosa cells of the developing pre-antral and antral follicles produce inhibin B, which triggers chemical responses in the ovaries. Inhibin B is most often observed in the follicular phase when levels peak early and then decline over time Objectives: This study was designed to investigate the role of serum inhibin B and the Luteinizing Hormone / Follicle Stimulating Hormone ratio in differentiation between the different phenotypes of polycystic ovary syndrome as well as to define the predominant PCOS phenotype.  Methods: This cross-sectional research was conducted in the
