Films of pure Poly (methyl methacrylate) PMMA and Iron chromate doped PMMA have been prepared using casting method. Transmission and absorptance spectra have been recorded in the wavelength range (300-900) nm, in order to calculate, single oscillator energy, dispersion energy proposed by Wemple - DiDomenico model, average oscillator strength, average oscillator wavelength. The refractive index data at infinite wavelength which was found to obey single oscillator model which was found to increase from 2.27-2.56 as the doping percentage increase. Cobalt substituted nickel copper ferrite samples with general formula Ni0.95-xCoxCu0.05Fe2O4, where (x= 0.00, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 and 0.05) were prepared by solid-state reactions method at 1373 K for 4h. The samples prepared were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD(, atomic force microscope (AFM), Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR) and Vickers hardness. X-ray diffraction patterns confirm the formation of a single phase of cubic spinel structure in all the prepared samples . The experimental set up was based on simple and low cost electric components that generate electrical field sufficiently high at the electrodes to ionize various gases which flow at atmospheric pressure. A high AC power supply was used with 9.6kV peak to peak and 33kHz frequency. The plasma was generated using two electrodes. The voltage and current discharge waveform were measured. For the first time in Iraq, two species of monogenetic tretamtodes of the genus Dactylogyrus were recorded from gills of Alburnus caeruleus from Tigris river at Al-Zaafaraniya, south of Baghdad during June 1995. The first species, Dactylogyrus sphyrna is characterized by having the seventh pair of marginal hooklets almost twice as large as other marginal hooklets, powerful inner and outer processes of median hooks especially the inner one which is expanded terminally, one connecting bar and long spirally twisted copulatory organ. The study was conducted to detect the effect of addition of 0.03, 0.06 and0.10% potassium sorbate and 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.30% sodium propionate upon the sensory properties of laboratory made biscuit. The statistical analysis of the results revealed no significant differences (P<0.05) between the propionate treatment (A,B,C,D) and between the sorbate treatment (E,F,G) and the control (H) in most sensory properties of biscuit prior to storage.
