Synthesis, characterization, and antioxidant activities of imine compounds
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Monomeric complexes of the ligand H2L, with the general formula [M (HL2)2] with (M (II) = Co, Ni, Cu), have been synthesized and characterized by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H‐NMR), Fourier‐transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV‐Vis), elemental microanalysis, metal content, magnetic moment and molar conductance measurements, molar conductance, and chloride containing. On the basis of experimental evidences, tetrahedral geometry has been proposed for prepared Schiff bases complexes. The geometry of the ligand and its complexes were confirmed by their optimized structures obtained from the computational study. Antioxidant activities of these compounds were evaluated against 1.1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and were compared with standard natural antioxidant, ascorbic acid. The results reveal that these compounds exhibit excellent radical scavenging activities.</p>

Background: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is the most common painful oral mucosal disease, affecting approximately 20% of the population. RAS presents with a wide spectrum of severity ranging from a minor nuisance to complete debility. Many of factors thought to have been involved in its etiology; that might have at the same time a direct or indirect impact upon oxidant/antioxidant system and trigger free radicals production. The aim of this study was to determine the possible association of oxidant/total antioxidant status and recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS). Subjects, materials and methods: The study consisted of thirty patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis and thirty healthy controls from which saliva and blood samples we

The initiative of the Central Bank of Iraq and its impact on some banking activities provided by private Islamic banks
...Show More Authors

Islamic banks are distinguished by providing banking activities that are unique in providing them from the rest of the other types of banks, and these activities are a group of banking services provided by the bank to its customers, whether these banking activities are tangible or intangible. At the same time, it is a source of bank profits, as Islamic banks impose a percentage of Islamic Murabaha on those banking activities , However, these banks have developed new services that they provide with the funds of the Central Bank initiative launched at the beginning of (2016) due to the economic conditions that befell the country due to the (financial security) crisis that the country faced in 2014. To put forward initiatives, and a

Leadership patterns for university student activities managers according to the Blake and Moton model (The managerial Grid)
...Show More Authors

The researcher is one of the workers in university sports student activities, as he noticed that there is a diversity in the use of leadership patterns among managers of student activities in Iraqi universities between one director and another, which leads to the impact of these leadership styles on performance, positive or negative, in the level of human relations and the achievement of results. The researcher adopted the descriptive method in the survey method with relational relationships. The research sample consisted of (184) sports coaches who represent (27) universities and governmental and private colleges. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (Spss). To extract.statisti

Utilization of Eucalyptus Honey as Antioxidant to Increase the Shelf Life of Local Cream
...Show More Authors

The effect of eucalyptus honey addition on the safety and extend the shelf life of local cream was evaluated. Cream was manufactured by the corporation various concentrations of bee honey (0, 5, 10,15 and 20) % and kept under cool temperature (6 + 1) °C for 15 days. Several variables were determined to assess the bee’s honey influence samples with time of the storage on cream quality which those involved the total viable count, coliform, psychrotrophic bacteria, yeasts and molds as well as peroxide value, acid degree value (ADV), these tests were carried out at the age of 0, 5, 10 and 15 days. The cream sample of bee’s honey contain (0%) was the highest sample in total viable count (TVC), psychrotrophic bacteria, coliform, yeas

Group tagging: Using video tagging to facilitate reflection on small group activities
...Show More Authors

Collaborative learning in class‐based teaching presents a challenge for a tutor to ensure every group and individual student has the best learning experience. We present Group Tagging, a web application that supports reflection on collaborative, group‐based classroom activities. Group Tagging provides students with an opportunity to record important moments within the class‐based group work and enables reflection on and promotion of professional skills such as communication, collaboration and critical thinking. After class, students use the tagged clips to create short videos showcasing their group work activities, which can later be reviewed by the teacher. We report on a deployment of Group Tagging in an undergraduate Computing Scie

The research includes the synthesis and identification of the mixed ligands complexes of M 2 Ions in general composition ,[M(Leu) 2 (SMX)] Where L leucine (C 6 H 13 NO 2 )symbolized (LeuH) as a primary ligand and Sulfamethoxazole C 10 H 11 N 3 O 3 S) symbolized (SMX)) as a secondary ligand . The ligands and the metal chlorides were brought in to reaction at room temperature in(v/v) ethanol /water as solvent containing NaOH. The reaction required the following [(metal: 2(Na Leu --): (SMX )] molar ratios with M(II) ions, Were M (  Mn ( II),Co (II),Ni(II),Cu( II),Zn (II),Cd(II)and Hg( The UV Vis and magnetic moment data revealed an octahedral geometry around M(II), The conductivity data show a non electrolytic nature of the complexes .
