Some metal ions (Mn+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2, Zn+2, Cd+2 and Hg+2) complexes of quinaldic acid (QuinH) and α-picoline (α-Pic) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their , FTIR, (U.V-Vis) spectroscopy, conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption.   The chalcones 1( a,b) were prepared by the reaction of  2- acetyl benzofuran with two aromatic aldehydes in the presence of alkaline media. These chalcones are used as starting material to obtain the  desired heterocyclic: pyrazolin, isoxazoline, pyrimidinthion, pyrimidinone, cyclohexanone and indazole derivatives. The structure of newly synthesized heterocyclic compounds were established on the basis of  their melting points, elemental analysis(C.H.N), FTIR and 1HMNR (for some of them) spectral data . In this study, two types of mixes were adopted by using two grading of coarse aggregate. The practical side of this study was to produce no-fine aggregate concrete by using crushed clay brick aggregates. The durability of the produced concrete and internal sulfate attack was studied.      For durability assessment, it is found that the no-fine concrete made with crushed brick aggregate lost about (15-25) % of its compressive strength after being subjected to 60 cycles of wetting and drying with age 120 days.
