The discharged water from tannery plants is main source for pollution of soil and groundwater, especially in Nahrawan area. Water samples is collected from 10 sites of wells, discharged water and from using water in different levels of tannery and 7 soil samples from different sites inside factories area and outside it. The results shown that pH for samples of wells and discharged water were within allowable limits between 6.5- 8.5, except the value of pH recorded in the discharged water sample (after the addition of calcium hydroxide) was 12.8, as well as reached the highest value of total dissolved salts (TDS) 7800 ppm in same samples. The aim of this paper is to compare between classical and fuzzy filters for removing different types of noise in gray scale images. The processing used consists of three steps. First, different types of noise are added to the original image to produce a noisy image (with different noise ratios). Second, classical and fuzzy filters are used to filter the noisy image. Finally, comparing between resulting images depending on a quantitative measure called Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) to determine the best filter in each case.

In this study Microwave and conventional methods have been used to extract and estimate pectin and its degree of esterification from dried grapefruit and orange peels. Acidified solution water with nitric acid in pH (1.5) was used. In conventional method, different temperature degrees for extraction pectin from grape fruit and orange(85 ,90 , 95 and 100?C) for 1 h were used The results showed grapefruit peels contained 12.82, 17.05, 18.47, 15.89% respectively, while the corresponding values were 5.96, 6.74, 7.41 and 8.00 %, respectively in orange peels.
