It has been revealed previously that chronic liver disease (CLD) may be associated to hormonal fluctuations. The current study, therefore, aimed to evaluate some hormones in CLD patients compared with non-CLD individuals. This case control study was conducted at Gastroenterology and Hepatology Teaching Hospital, Medical city, Baghdad, Iraq during December 2021 to May 2022. One hundred and twenty male patients with CLD (age:14-75 years) and 120 control males (age: 24-70 years) were involved in this study. Serum samples were taken from all individuals and were then analysed for many tests which included hormones (Cortisol, testosterone, prolactin, insulin and thyroid stimulating hormone TSH); biochemical analysis (Prothrombin time PT, international normalized ratio INR and albumin); liver enzymes (aspartate aminotransferase AST, alanine aminotransferase ALT, alkaline phosphatase ALP and gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT)) and interleukins (Interleukin 13 IL-13 and transforming growth factor TGF). Some hormones such as cortisol, prolactin and insulin significantly increased in CLD patients while other hormones (testosterone and TSH) significantly decreased in CLD patients compared with the controls. Results also showed significant increase in liver enzymes among CLD patients. These changes in the hormones and liver enzymes levels may be related with significant increase in INR and albumin which were significantly higher in CLD patients than in the control group. Finally, IL-13 increased significantly in CLD patients while no significant differences were noticed between CLD and control regarding TGF levels. It can, therefore, be concluded that hormonal imbalance can affect people with liver conditions. and that this hormonal imbalance may be associated with high levels of liver enzymes.
This research was included (60) patients diagnosed as having Urticaria, (30) patients with acute Urticaria and (30) patients with chronic Urticaria in addition to ( 30) healthy people were chosen as a control. lymphoid cells (Lymphocytes) isolated from patients and healthy controls and added to Terasaki Plates which containing specific antibodies to the( HLA -Class I Antigen) to identify alleles of these antigens. The result showed (HLA-A2) allele increased in its recurrences in patients with acute Urticaria and significantly higher when compared with chronic Urticaria patients and control group, which have Relative Risk (RR) (4.12 , 13.50), respectively, and raise the value of the Etiological Fraction (EF) to (0.45 , 0.55), respectively

Twenty animals (10 rabbits, 10 partridges) were used in this study. Blood samples, collected from heart of rabbits, as well from the right jugular vein of partridge, and delivered to the laboratory. Some biochemical parameters (potassium, sodium, and uric acid) have been investigated, in addition blood samples were tested for: white blood cells (WBC), red blood cells (RBC), haemoglobin (HB), haematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean concentration of hemoglobin in the corpuscular volume (MCHC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV).
Results indicate that haematological and bioch
There are numerous bidirectional interactions between the reproductive system and the liver. Sex steroids regulate metabolic health through signaling effects in both peripheral and central metabolic tissues, including adipose tissue, liver, skeletal muscle, and brain, and have a role in the etiology of structural and functional liver diseases. Blood samples were obtained from 90 healthy women (control group) and 90 women that have hormonal changes (patients’ group). The levels of reproductive hormones (follicle stimulation hormone/FSH, luteinizing hormone/LH, estradiol/E2, progesterone/P4) were measured by using fully automated Cobas E411, whereas those of liver enzymes (alanine transaminase /ALT, aspartate aminotransferase/AST, a

The current study was intended to examine the transforms linked to anthropometric measurements and bone-related factors. In this study of 80 women which included; they comprised 40 premenopausal women and 40 postmenopausal women. waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI), hip circumference (HC), moreover waist to hip ratio are among the anthropometric measurements (W-HR) recorded by standard procedures. The plasma samples were tested for the following biochemical parameters: bone-related parameters [calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), uric acid (UA), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)] and serological agglutination tests [rheumat

The major barrier to the effectiveness of the treatment is adherence. Adherence to medicines among patients is challenging. Patient beliefs in medications can be positively or negatively correlated to adherence. Objectives: To investigate the extent of adherence and factors affecting adherence, as well as to investigate the association between beliefs and adherence in women with breast cancer taking AHT. Method: A cross-sectional study included 124 Iraqi women with breast cancer recruited from Middle Euphrates

In addition, 30 healthy adult volunteers were selected as control group .The patients and control groups sera were examined with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA) to detect total level IgE and radial immunodiffusion (RID) to detect levels of IgG , IgA and IgM . The total level of IgE in acute urticaria ( 1.45±0.13) IU/mL and chronic urticaria (2.12 ± 0.10) IU/mL patients were significantly higher than the control groups ( 0.85 ± 0.10)IU/mL (p<0.05). Sixteen honey samples of mixed floral origins from both regions were analysed and compared. Antibacterial activity of the honey samples was investigated against five clinical pathogenic bacteria: Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi and Staphylococcus aureus by agar dilution method. Both sample sets showed differential biochemical characteristics and potential functional properties such as antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. All measured parameters were within accepted ranges. Howev

In order to determine the level of toxicity across the food chain, this research was structured to identify some biochemical alterations in the hepatic tissue of rats fed cadmium, cyanide and a mixture of cyanide and cadmium contaminated catfish diet. Fish were assigned into four groups and were exposed to both toxicants (cadmium and cyanide) in the single and combined states. Each toxicant was administered as cadmium chloride (CdCl2) and potassium cyanide (KCN) on a dose of 0.4 mg of the toxicant/100 ml water
