This search include the synthesis of some new 1,3-oxazepine derivatives have been prepared, starting from reaction of L-ascorbic acid with dry acetone in presence of dry hydrogen chloride afforded the acetal (I). Treatment of the latter with p-nitrobenzoyl chloride in dry pyridine yielded the ester (II) which was dissolved in (65%) acetic acid in absolute ethanol yielded the glycol (III). The reaction of the glycol (III) with sodium periodate in distilled water at room temperature produced the aldehyde (IV). The compound (V) [2-amino-5-mercapato-1,3,4-thiadiazole] was prepared through the reaction of thiosemicarbazide with carbon disulphide (CS2) in entity of anhydrous (Na2CO3) in (abs. ethanol ). Compound (VI) [2-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)isoindoline-1,3-dione] was synthesized by the reaction of phthalic anhydride with compound (V) in presence of (gla. CH3COOH). Reaction of compound (VI) with (ClCH2COOH) in entity of anhydrous (Na2CO3) in distilled water produced compound (VII) and then reaction with thionyl chloride yielded acid chloride (VIII). Condensation of acid chloride with hydrazine hydrate afforded 2-(5-(1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-ylthio)acetohydrazide (IX). The azomethine (X) has been synthesized from the reaction between compounds (IX) and (IV). Moreover compounds (XI-XIII) were synthesized from the cyclic condensation of Schiff base (X) with (maleic, phthalic and 3-nitrophthalic) anhydride, the structures of the novel synthesized compounds have been confirmed by physical properties and spectral measurements such as (FTIR and some of them by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR).
Azo-ligand-(HL) ([4- ((2-hydroxyquinolin-3-yl) diazenyl) -N- (5-methylisoxazol-3yl) benzenesulfonamide]), (2- hydroxy quinolin derivative),reacts with the next metal ions (Cr (III), Fe (III),Co (II) and Cu(II)) forming stable complexes with unique geometries such as(tetrahedral for bothCo (II) and Cu (II), octahedral for both Cr (III) and Fe (III)). The creation of such complexes was detected by employing spectroscopic means involving ultraviolet-visible which proved the obtained geometries, Fourier transfer proved the involvement of coordinated water molecule in all complexes besides the pyrolysis (TGA & DSC) studies proved the coordination of water residues with metal ions inside the coordination sphere as well as chlorine atoms. A novel ligand ((1E)-(2-(4-fluorobenzylidene)amino)methyl) phenyl)diazenyl)-1,3,7-trimethyl-3,7-dihydro-1H-purine-2,6-dione (4-FADPD) was synthesized via the azotization reaction of 2-aminobenzylamine with caffeine, and the resultant compound was condensed with 4-fluorobenzaldehyde to form a newly azo-Schiff base ligand. Its complexes with Cu(II), Ag(I), and Au(III) were synthesized. The results of multi-identifications, including XRD, elemental analysis (C.H.N), UV-vis spectroscopy, FTIR, and 1H-NMR, were used to propose the suggested structures using molar conductivity measurements. These data were utilized to propose appropriate geometric configurations for all complexes. The azo-Schiff base ligand coordinates toward the Cu(II) i

Chitosan-schiff base with three different ratios of para-Dimethyl aminobenzaldehyde& chitosan Schiff base hydrogels have been prepared for controlled drug release study. The synthesized chitosan Schiff base and chitosan Schiff base hydrogel were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Visible, SEM, analysis. Swelling properties of the hydrogel were investigated at three different media pH (2, 7, 10). The swelling degree varied with the pH, amount of crosslinking agent glutaraldehyde and with the amount of paraDimethylaminobenzaldehyde for the hydrogels. All hydrogels were used for controlled drug release system. Aspirin was used as model drug, in three different buffer solution (2, 7, 10) as release media. The rate of release of drugs in the pH2 is m
... Show MoreThe study involved preparing a new compound by combining between 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and (Z)-3-hydrazineylideneindolin-2-one resulting in Schiff bases and metal ions: Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) forming stable minerals-based-Schiff complexes. The formation of resulting Schiff bases is detected spectrally using LC-Mss which gave corresponding results with theoretical results, 1H-NMR proves the founding of N=CH signal, FT-IR indicates the occurrence of imine band and UV-VIs mean is proved the ligand formation. On the other hand, minerals-based-Schiff was characterized using the same spectral means that relied with ligand (Schiff bases). Those means gave satisfactory results and proved the suggested distinguishable geometries.
