In this study, a new, rapid and sensitive batch and flow injection-merging zones spectrophotometric methods for the determination of hydroquinone in a pure material and in pharmaceutical preparation were proposed. These methods were based on the oxidative-coupling reaction of HQ with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydazine (DNPH) in the presence of sodium periodate and sodium hydroxide to form a dark brown water slouble dye that is stable and has maximum absorption at 530 nm, graphs of absorbance versus concentration show that Beer's low is obeyed over the concentration rang of 1-40 and 3-300 μg.ml-1 of hydroquinone, with detection limits of 0.162 and 0.510 μg.ml-1 of hydroquinone for batch and FIA methods, respectively. The optimized FIA system is

The ligand was refluxed in the ethanol with the metal ions [Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)] salts, using triethyleamine as a base in (2:2) molar ratio to give the binuclear complexes. These complexes were characterised by (A.A), F.T.I.R, (U.V-Vis) spectroscopies, along with conductivity, chloride content and melting point measurement. These studies revealed an octahedral geometries for Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes with the general structure [M2(L)2(H2O)4]. The ligand and its complexes exhibited biological activity against the Bacillus(G+) strain and the

Jackson severely denounces injustice through her emphasis on a bizarre social custom in a small American town, in which the winner of the lottery, untraditionally, receives a fatal prize. The readers are left puzzled at the end of the story as Tessie Hutchinson, the unfortunate female winner, is stoned to death by the members of her community, and even by her family. This study aims at investigating the author’s social and political implications that lie behind the story, taking into account the historical era in which the story was published (the aftermath of th

Objectives: This study was designed to determine the relationship between the levels of iron indices and diabetes mellitus type 2. Type 2
Type of the study: Cross –sectional study.
Methods: diabetes mellitus is clinical condition characterized by hyperglycemia due to the absolute or relative deficiency of insulin. It is also followed by pathological abnormalities like impaired insulin secretion, peripheral insulin resistance, and excessive hepatic glucose production. Although type 2 diabetes mellitus i

Many studies revealed the elevation of serum ET-I with human diabetes and microangiopathies. Since insulin resistance is a case of mixed diabetic and pre-diabetic cases, many risk factors beyond obesity and inflammation are proposed. The current study aims to demonstrate the association between serum ET-I and asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Sera of 73 subjects were enrolled currently (control= 35 subjects, and 38 with T2DM for more than 7 years), aged (40-60) years old, with distinct body mass index (BMI) ≤ 25 for control volunteers and (BMI) ≥ 25 for obesity and diabetes

Many intracellular enzymes like (alkaline phosphatase- (ALP), aspartate aminotransferase- (AST) and alanine aminotransferase- (ALT) that are released outside cells into the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) and saliva after destruction of periodontal tissue during periodontitis. This study was conducted to determine the periodontal health status and the levels of salivary enzymes (ALP, AST and ALT) of the study and control groups and to correlate the levels of these enzymes with clinical periodontal parameters in each study group.
