Bipedal Robots: A Systematic Review of Dynamical Models, Balance Control Strategies, and Locomotion Methods
...Show More Authors

Bipedal robots, designed to replicate human locomotion, face significant balance challenges due to instability and high degrees of freedom. This study examines dynamical models, balance control strategies, and locomotion methodologies. Dynamical models are categorized into simplified, centroidal dynamics, and whole-body dynamics models. Simplified models, such as the Linear Inverted Pendulum Model (LIPM), approximate the robot as a point mass at the Center of Mass (CoM) but neglect upper-body dynamics and complex terrain interactions. Centroidal dynamics models incorporate CoM motion, contact forces, and angular momentum for improved disturbance rejection but require extensive computational resources. Whole-body models achieve high fidelity by integrating joint torques and external forces but are constrained by computational complexity. Balance control methods for standing bipedal robots are classified into joint-specific and whole-body approaches. Ankle and hip strategies address small perturbations but are insufficient for real-world disturbances. Whole-body control utilizes all body segments to modulate contact forces and regulate momentum, enhancing stability against external disturbances, though challenges remain in force modeling and state estimation. Locomotion control is divided into model-based and learning-based approaches. Model-based strategies include LIPM and its extensions-based methods, Zero Moment Point (ZMP)-based methods, which ensure dynamic stability by maintaining moments within the support polygon; Capture Point (CP)-based methods, which predict foot placement to prevent falls; and Divergent Component of Motion (DCM)-based approaches, which adjust footsteps based on CoM divergence. While learning-based methods leverage Reinforcement Learning (RL) and human motion data for adaptive and energy-efficient gait generation. This study highlights challenges in energy efficiency, terrain adaptation, and scalability, proposing sensor fusion, energy-aware RL reward functions, and hierarchical control architectures as potential solutions.

Agricultural Irrigation Pricing: Review of Theories and Practices
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Water pricing and substitution of the costs of irrigation investment operation and maintenance have been controversial issues for a long time. The small charges for irrigation water are addressed, and additionally, the low level of farmers who pay the costs. In a few schemes, expense accumulation rates are close to zero, notwithstanding when water charges are well beneath the cost of operation and maintenance. Water prices are charged to farmers for two essential objectives. The first is to cover the operation and maintenance estimation with the goal that the investment is fiscally practical. Much of the time, costs will likewise need to incorporate a price for the cost of capital required to develop
... Show More

The use of ARIMA, LSTM and GRU models in time series hybridization with practical application
...Show More Authors

The importance of forecasting has emerged in the economic field in order to achieve economic growth, as forecasting is one of the important topics in the analysis of time series, and accurate forecasting of time series is one of the most important challenges in which we seek to make the best decision. The aim of the research is to suggest the use of hybrid models for forecasting the daily crude oil prices as the hybrid model consists of integrating the linear component, which represents Box Jenkins models and the non-linear component, which represents one of the methods of artificial intelligence, which is long short term memory (LSTM) and the gated recurrent unit (GRU) which represents deep learning models. It was found that the proposed h

Condition Prediction Models of Deteriorated Trunk Sewer Using Multinomial Logistic Regression and Artificial Neural Network
...Show More Authors

Sewer systems are used to convey sewage and/or storm water to sewage treatment plants for disposal by a network of buried sewer pipes, gutters, manholes and pits. Unfortunately, the sewer pipe deteriorates with time leading to the collapsing of the pipe with traffic disruption or clogging of the pipe causing flooding and environmental pollution. Thus, the management and maintenance of the buried pipes are important tasks that require information about the changes of the current and future sewer pipes conditions. In this research, the study was carried on in Baghdad, Iraq and two deteriorations model's multinomial logistic regression and neural network deterioration model NNDM are used to predict sewers future conditions. The results of the

Measurement and accounting disclosure of intellectual capital using accounting models in the Iraqi insurance company
...Show More Authors

The research aims to shed light on the possibility of measuring the intellectual capital in the Iraqi insurance company using accounting models, as well as disclosing it in the financial statements of the company, where human capital was measured using the present value factor model for discounted future revenues and the intellectual value-added factor model for measuring structural capital It was also disclosed in the financial statements based on the theory of stakeholders. The research problem lies in the fact that the Iraqi insurance company does not carry out the process of measuring and disclosing the intellectual capital while it is considered an important source for the company’s progress in the labor market recently. The duration of sunshine is one of the important indicators and one of the variables for measuring the amount of solar radiation collected in a particular area. Duration of solar brightness has been used to study atmospheric energy balance, sustainable development, ecosystem evolution and climate change. Predicting the average values of sunshine duration (SD) for Duhok city, Iraq on a daily basis using the approach of artificial neural network (ANN) is the focus of this paper. Many different ANN models with different input variables were used in the prediction processes. The daily average of the month, average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, relative humidity, wind direction, cloud level and atmosp

Diyala river is the most important tributaries in Iraq, this river suffering from pollution, therefore, this research aimed to predict organic pollutants that represented by biological oxygen demand BOD, and inorganic pollutants that represented by total dissolved solids TDS for Diyala river in Iraq, the data used in this research were collected for the period from 2011-2016 for the last station in the river known as D17, before the river meeting Tigris river in Baghdad city. Analysis Neural Network ANN was used in order to find the mathematical models, the parameters used to predict BOD were seven parameters EC, Alk, Cl, K, TH, NO3, DO, after removing the less importance parameters. While the parameters that used to predict TDS were fourte
