BACKGROUND: Tribulus terrestris has been commonly used in folk medicine to energize, vitalize and improve sexual function and physical performance in men and laboratory rats. OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of Tribulus terrestris on the number of Leydig cells. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Tribulus terrestris was given to mature male rats as an oral single herbal suspension in a dose of 2.0mg /1000gbody weight for 14 days to stimulate spermatogenesis. Formalin fixed paraffinembedded tissue sections were performed for histological, immunohistochemical and morphometrical studies. RESULTS: Histological study revealed wider seminiferous tubules and increased spermatocytes population with an increased sperm density inside the lumen of the tubules. Morphometrically, the diameters of seminiferous tubules and thickness of the germinal epithelia were significantly increased in Tribulus terrestris treated rats than that of the control group. There was no significant difference between the number of Leydig cells in the control and experimental groups. CONCLUSION: The activity of Leydig cells, manifested by the increments in the diameters, thickness of germinal epithelia and the density of the sperms inside seminiferous tubules, was increased but their number remain unaffected in spite of using the aphrodisiac agent, Tribulus terrestris. KEY WORDS: rat testis, tribulus terrestris, leydig cells.
Background:
Angiogenic potential m most tumors; characterized by VEGF and vascular bed density around tumor islands, is believed to be an important marker in predicting tumor growth,
recurrence and metastasis.
Materials and Methods:
The study included 50 cases of ameloblastomas. From each case 4 μm sections were stained IHC with antivascular endothelial growth factor antibody- and endothelial lined
vessels anti CD34 antibody to evaluate their expression and intensity in relation to their Fac Med Baghdad clinicopathological features.
Results:
Generally, VEGF was significantly highly expressed with strong intensity in outer cell layer of tumor islands, and the newly formed blood vessels were signif
Abstract: Objectives: The lowest dose of bromocriptine, necessary for suppression of lactation in rats, was estimated in this investigation. Methodology: Fifty healthy lactating rats were treated with different doses of bromocriptine. Cessation of lactation was assessed clinically and histologically. Results: Revealed that the lowest dose capable of lactation suppression is 4 mg bromocriptine / kg body wt. / day. It is very important to know the exact dose, which can suppress lactation in rats because these laboratory animals are commonly employed in experiments concerning this topic. Key words: Bromoci
Results: it was found that labelled cells participated in the formation of myotubes, which formed mature muscle fibers, and possibly new satellite cells. The results of this experiment may eventually revolutionized therapeutic procedures for some form of muscle diseases
Clopidogrel is a prodrug that must be transformed into an active metabolite by hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoenzymes to prevent platelet clotting. Polymorphisms of the CYP2C19 gene can cause a reduction or complete loss of CYP2C19 enzyme activity resulting in inhibiting clopidogrel metabolism, effectiveness and increase stroke recurrence risk in ischemic stroke patients. This study aims to investigate the correlation between genetic polymorphisms in CYP2C19*2 and*3 and recurrent risk in patients with ischemic stroke taking clopidogrel 75mg in Kurdistan region –Iraq. This retrospective case-control study was carried out at Kurdistan, Erbil, Medicina medical center, and Rizgary general hospital from January 2021 to

Method: Eight groups and replicates for each group. The groups were homogenous in weights and were placed in 13 cages. Each group consisted of 10 rat and at 5 fares each. In the first treatment, rat were fed on regular feeding without adding and feeding rats in the second treatment sessions add to it the alcoholic extract of ginger in Turkey 150 mg/kg. The third group is the same as the normal food after adding the alcohol extract of ginger at a concentration of

The 5-year survival rate is about 4%, which is the lowest of any cancer and median survival is 6 months. The high mortality rate is largely due to the typically advanced stage of the cancer at the time of diagnosis and treatment. Resection is the only current treatment resulting in cure for pancreatic carcinoma. However, due to the initiation and progression of this cancer without symptoms, only about 10% to 15% of patients present with localized disease amenable to potentially curative resection. Chemotherapy increases survival and up to date, the use of pallia

However, the task is complicated by cell adhesion, deformation, vague cell outlines, low-contrast cell protrusion structures, and background imperfections. On the other hand, existing segmentation approaches frequently produce inaccurate findings. As a result, an effective strategy for using the residual network with attention to segment cells is suggested in this paper. The segmentation mask of neural cells may be accurately predicted. This method is built on U-net, with EfficientNet serving as the e

In this study, the consequences of treatment with brake pad particles on kidney and spleen were evaluatedthrough microscopic anatomy sections for 60 male albino mice. The animals were divided into six groups, the first three groups (A,B,C) were exposed to brake pad particles depending on periods of exposure (4, 8, and 12weeks, respectively), while the other three groups were control groups, designated asF, which were exposed to laboratory fresh air only. A special locally-designed inhalation chamber was used to expose the animals. The exposure dose to brake pad particles (total suspended particles) was 2.228 µg/m³ for 30 min/day, 5 days/week,4, 8 and 12 weeks. The statistical analysis showed that the weights of organs for both
