THE ENHANCEMENT OF DROUGHT TOLERANCE FOR PLANT ONION (ALLIUM CEPA L.) INOCULATED BY ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI
...Show More Authors

The current study was aimed to examine the effects of two types of Arbuscular mycorrhizal Fungi (F. mosseae, C. etunicatum) on the onion plant under two water conditions (normal irrigation and drought treatment). This study has aspects related to improve tolerance of an onion plant (Allium cepa L.) to water stress situations with taking in consideration regulate physiological Growth Parameters PGP of plant and biochemical [fungal root colonization, dry weight of mycorrhizal roots, Spore density of AM fungi, Relative water content, proline content, total carotenoids, Soluble protein content and Phosphorous application] in the existence or lack of AMF. The results indicate that the drought dealing producing increase of spore density of AM fungi, proline content, total carotenoids and soluble protein content except Fugal root colonization, plant root dry weight, Relative water content and Phosphorous uptake which were increased when associating with normal irrigation. The plants inoculated by each F. mosseae, C. etunicatum was noted a significant differences (P < 0.05) increase in some PGP comparing with uninoculated. The highest values of PGP were recorded when onion plant inoculated by two types of AMF. Normal irrigation was showed less enhancement of plants compared with plants that obtained drought stress. The inoculcation by both types of AMF resulted in increasing in an onion plant uptake and protection against drought stress, while the case of relative water content showed relatively similar values in both conditions comparing with non- AMF onion plant.

Study the Spectral reflectance and factor affecting they for the dominate land cover by using remote sensing technique in Abu-Gharib projection.
...Show More Authors

Image of landsate-7 taken by thematic mapper was used and classified using supervised method. Results of supervised classification indicated presence of nine land cover classes. Salt-soils class shows the highest reflectance value while water bodies' class shows the lowest values. Also the results indicated that soil properties show different effects on reflectance. There was a high significant positive relation of carbonate, gypsum, electric conductivity and silt content, while there was a week positive relation with sand and negative relation with organic matter, water content, bulk density and cataion exchange capacity.

The sports field is one of the fields that are concerned with the various methods and methods because of their positive impact on the development of actual training, the investment of the exerted effort in time, and through the follow-up of the researcher in the field and academic field, I noticed that there is a weakness in explosive ability, which affects performance and skill level during training and competition Therefore, the researcher decided to prepare maximum physical exertion exercises according to the anaerobic threshold as a principle of development in many physical and skill variables because good physical performance leads to reaching the best achievements and since the skill of shooting by jumping high - either constitutes a

Kinetic Study of Crystal Violet Dye Removal by Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Prepared by the Green Method
...Show More Authors

The green method was chosen for the preparation of nano iron oxide due to its simplicity, ease of preparation, and purity, compared to other methods. Nano iron oxide was made using a substance that causes precipitation and a coating from the alcoholic extract of orange leaves from Iraq. It was examined structurally and spectrally using several techniques, including X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, field-emission scanning microscopy (FESEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The diagnosis proved that the nano iron oxide was successfully prepared in a spherical form and with an average size of 71.1 nm. The nano iron oxide particles were tested for their ability to remove crystal

The experiment was conducted to study the effect of leaves extract of Salvia sclarea , Rosmarinus officinalis and Thymus vulgaris with 10% and 30% concentration on germination of seeds and growth of seedlings . The effect of these extracts on infection percentage of seeds decay and surface growth of Rhizoctonia solani . The results showed that the three extracts effected significantly to reduced percentage of seeds germination, acceleration of germination , promoter indicator , infection percentage of seeds decay and surface growth of R. solani especially in 30% concentration .

Experimental Investigation of Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Double Pipe Heat Exchanger Using Compound Technique of Transverse Vibration and Inclination Angle
...Show More Authors

Numerous tests are recently conducted to assess vibration's role in accelerating the heat transfer rate in various heat exchangers. In this work, the enhancement of heat transfer by the effect of transfer vibration and inclination angles on the surface of a double pipe heat exchanger experimentally has been investigated. A data acquisition system is applied to record the data of temperatures, flow rates, and frequencies over the tests. A compound technique was adopted, including the application of a set of inclination angles of (0°, 10°, 20°, and 30°) under the effect of frequency of vibration ranging from sub-resonance to over-resonance frequencies. The results showed that the overall heat transfer coefficient enhan

Monitoring Lotic Ecosystem by the Application of Water Quality Index (CCMEWQI)
...Show More Authors

Water Quality Index (WQI) as a tool to assess the water quality status provides advice related to the use of water quality monitoring data and it is a way for combining the complex water quality data into a single value or single statement. The present study was conducted on Al- Hilla river in the middle of Iraq from August 2012 to July 2013 at five selected stations in the river, from Al- Musaib city to Al- Hashimya at the south of Hilla to determine its suitability for aquatic environment (GWQI), drinking water (PWSI) and irrigation (IWQI).This index offers a useful representation of the overall quality of water for public or any intended use as well as indicating pollution, water quality management, and decision making. Pot experiment was carried out at the College of Agriculture – Baghdad University during autumn season, 2007. Thirteen treatments were formulated to evaluate the effectiveness of four applications of Phosphorus (0, 60, 60×2 and 120 Kg P. h-1) and three applications of Zinc (0, 25×2 mg Zn. L-1 and 50 mg Zn. Kg soil-1) along with inoculating seeds of bean with strains mixture 889 and 1865 and non-inoculated treatment, on nodulation, yield and protein content in seeds (N%). The results showed that inoculated plants exceeded on non-inoculated one in all the studied characteristics. While, P and Zn, applications at the rate of 60×2 kg/ha and 25×2 mg/L respectively, significantly, increased, nodulation, yield, protein content in se
