EFFECT OF EARLY EXPOSURE TO HEAT AND ADDITION OF GINSENG EXTRACT ON PRODUCTION TRAITS IN BROILER CHICKS
...Show More Authors

The current study was conducted on 504(Ros-308) broiler chicks during the period 28/9/2017-9/11/2018to determine the effect of heat shock in early age and additives such as ginseng in three levels on birds weight and feedconsumption. Results showed that the exposure to high temperature (38-400C) lead to significant decrease (p≤≤≤≤≤0.05 (inaverage body weight at7 day of age and significant decrease in body weight in birds expousured to high temperature inthe periods 2, 4 and 6 hours compared with control (Table 1). Significant decrease in live body weight when exposure to2hr compared with 6hr namely (138.54) and (144.21), respectively while no significant difference between 2 and 4h.Results showed no significant effect in body weight in control group compared with the group that fed on diet containginseng extract with or without vitamins and minerals. Interaction between exposure time and ginseng extract on bodygain weight all ages, the height body gain was noticed in P0G2 at 24days at age (514.78 gm). While, the lowest value wasin P6G0 (275.78) Accumulative body gain was differed significantly P2G2(2514.22 gm) compared with P6G0(2054.45 gm)

Preparation, In-vitro, and Ex-vivo Evaluation of Ondansetron Loaded Invasomes for Transdermal Delivery
...Show More Authors

Invasomes are newly developed types of nanovesicles. A vesicular drug delivery system is considered one of the approaches for transdermal delivery to enhance permeation and improve drug bioavailability. Ondansetron is a serotonin receptor antagonist used for treating vomiting associated with different clinical cases. The study aimed to prepare invasomal dispersions for improving permeation of ondansetron across the skin with a controlled release pattern. Twenty-seven formulas of ondansetron-loaded invasomes were prepared by a modified mechanical dispersion method. These formulas were optimized by studying the effect of variables on entrapment efficiency. Vesicle size, polydispersity, zeta potential, in-vitro release and ex-vivo perm

Evaluation of Serum Angiogenic and Anti-angiogenic Markers in Pregnant Women with Placenta Accreta
...Show More Authors

Over the last 40 years, rate of cesarean delivery has risen from less than10% to over 30% around the world, and almost simultaneously a 10-foldraise in the incidence of placenta accrete spectrum. Fine coordinationamong vascular endothelial growth factor, soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase1 and placental growth factor is important for normal placentaldevelopment and trophoblast invasion. To measure and compare the levelsof circulating vascular endothelial growth factor, placental growth factorand soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 in pregnant women with placentaaccreta to a control group. A case control study which involved one hundredpregnant females were recruited from the Obstetric ward in BaghdadTeaching Hospital who were pregnant with 28

Evaluation of Thyroid Hormones and Some Biochemical Variables in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease
...Show More Authors

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a permanent loss of kidney function which is diagnosed when the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is under 60 ml\min\1.73m2 for more than three months. The present study was conducted at Kidney Transplant and Dialysis Center in the Medical City in Baghdad from October 2018 to April 2019. Sixty CKD patients with an age ranged of 40 to 65 years and 25 healthy subjects were involved in this study. Blood samples were collected to evaluate the levels of kidney function parameters and thyroid hormones. The levels of urea, creatinine and uric acid showed highly significant (p ≤ 0.01) increases in CKD patient in comparison with the control group, while the values of GFR and creatinine clearance showed highly

Synthesis and Characterization of Aluminum Doped Zinc Oxide Nanostructures by Nd:YAG Laser in Liquid
...Show More Authors

Aluminum doped zinc oxide nanoparticles (AZO) with different doping concentrations were prepared by Nd-YAG laser ablation of target in deionized water. The characterization of these nanoparticles was performed using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR)  spectroscopy,  scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminance spectroscopy (PL).  FTIR spectra confirmed the formation  of vibrational bonds for ZnO NPs and AZO NPs. SEM images illustrated that the size and shape of the NPs changed with changing the number of laser pulses. Photoluminescence peaks exhibited two emission peaks, one at the UV region and the second in the visible region, which were modified as the number of laser pulses and doping concentration were ch

Gentamicin Variably Affects amrZ and rhl gene Expression in Swarmer Cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
...Show More Authors

Swarming is one of the most important virulence factors used by bacteria to invade new sites. This study aimed to test the effects of gentamicin on swarming motility of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, both phenotypically and molecularly. The present results revealed that 11/25 isolates had gentamicin MIC of 1024 µg/ml.  However, gentamicin at sub-minimal inhibitory concentration significantly (P< 0.05) reduced the diameter of swarming in all P. aeruginosa isolates. Noticeably the mean and median swarming diameter before treatment with gentamicin 5.557 and 5.816 cm respectively had significantly (P < 0.001) reduced to 0.871 and 0.766 cm respectively. At the molecular level, amrZ (a global regulator

Spectrophotometric Determination of Bromhexine Hydrochloride by Diazotization and Coupling Method in Its Pharmaceutical Preparations
...Show More Authors

A simple, fast, and sensitive spectrophotometric method was suggested for the determination of Bromhexine Hydrochloride (BHH) in its pharmaceutical formulations. The method depends on the diazotization of BHH by sodium nitrite in acidic medium to produce the corresponding diazonium salt. The latter is coupled with phloroglucinol reagent in alkali medium to form a yellow water soluble azo-dye which has a maximum absorption at 405 nm with a molar absorptivity of 2.7×104 l.mol-1.cm-1 and Sandellʼs sensitivity of 0.01517 µg.cm-1. Beerʼs low is obeyed within a concentration range of 0.25-15 µg.mL-1 of BHH. The LOD and LOQ values of the proposed method were 0.087 µg.mL
