ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Coriandrum Sativum is a native of Mediterranean region and is grown in North Africa, central Europe, and Asia as culinary herb and medicament. In addition to the other health-supporting reputation, coriander has hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, and aphrodisiac effects. OBJECTIVE: To study the effect of Coriandrum Sativum on process of spermatogenesis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Coriandrum sativum was given daily to mature male rats in a dose of 50mg/ 100g body weight for 14 days. 10% formalin fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections were performed for histological and morphometrical studies. RESULTS: Histological study showed wider seminiferous tubules & increased spermatocytes population with an increased sperm density in the lumen of the tubules. Morphometrically, the diameters & thickness of the germinal epithelia of the seminiferous tubules were significantly increased in coriander treated rats than that of the control group. CONCLUSION: Coriandrum sativum appeared to be stimulant to the process of spermatogenesis. KEY WORDS: rat testis, Coriandrum sativum, spermatogenesis.

A new, simple, accurate, fast and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the analysis of amiloride in pure and pharmaceutical formulations by continuous flow injection analysis. The method was based on the oxidation of the drug with Ce(IV)sulfate in acidic medium to formed a pinkish-red color species which determined using homemade Ayah 3SBGR x3-3D solar cell flow injection photometer. Optimum conditions were obtained using a high intensity green light emitted diode as a source. The linear dynamic range for the instrument response versus amiloride concentration was 0.0005- 10 mmol.L-1 while the L.O.D was of 9.471 ng / sample. Cadmium oxide CdO thin films were prepared by successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) technique at varying number of dippings. The CdO thin films were prepared from a source material of Cadmium acetate and ammonium hydroxide solution deposited on glass substrate at 95℃. The prepared thin films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), and UV-Visible spectrometry.
