This study tackles a fourth-order inverse problem involving a cantilever beam with nonlocal conditions to simultaneously calculate the beam’s displacement and an unknown time-dependent coefficient. A finite difference approach is suggested to discretize the hyperbolic fourth-order equation. A stability analysis for the proposed scheme is also provided. The indirect problem is the minimization of the misfit function. The goal of the minimization algorithm is to reduce the gap between the measured (noisy) data and the numerical computed solution provided by the model. This paper evaluates the appropriateness of ‘Power Up 5’ in Sterling schools in Iraq from the aspects of Design & Layout, Subject & Content, Activities and skills from the teachers’ perspectives. The study followed the quantitative approach where a questionnaire was adopted from a previous study which was made regarding the same objectives and research questions. Adapted from Litz (2005). The data were gathered by distributing the questionnaire to 55 English teachers in Sterling schools in Iraq through a 5 Likert scale questionnaire. The results of the analysis are generally in favour of the textbook regarding research questions and the appropriateness to Iraqi students in grade 5. Data hiding is the process of encoding extra information in an image by making small modification to its pixels. To be practical, the hidden data must be perceptually invisible yet robust to common signal processing operations. This paper introduces a scheme for hiding a signature image that could be as much as 25% of the host image data and hence could be used both in digital watermarking as well as image/data hiding. The proposed algorithm uses orthogonal discrete wavelet transforms with two zero moments and with improved time localization called discrete slantlet transform for both host and signature image.
