Modeling and History Matching of a Fractured Reservoir in an Iraqi Oil Field
...Show More Authors
Abstract
In recent years the interest in fractured reservoirs has grown. The awareness has increased analysis of the role played by fractures in petroleum reservoir production and recovery. Since most Iraqi reservoirs are fractured carbonate rocks. Much effort was devoted to well modeling of fractured reservoirs and the impacts on production. However, turning that modeling into field development decisions goes through reservoir simulation. Therefore accurate modeling is required for more viable economic decision. Iraqi mature field being used as our case study. The key point for developing the mature field is approving the reservoir model that going to be used for future predictions. This can be achieved via History Matching. The production of this field is mainly from fractures, and it showed unfavorable decline during the production life from 1952. Thus, well modeling is necessary for developing the field, including history matching.

This study employed a three-dimensional three-phase black-oil dual-porosity model by CMG-Builder/IMEX 2010 simulator using an Iraqi fractured, faulted reservoir model. History matching has been carried out to improve the model which was going to be used in the simulation study. Several modifications were required during the history matching, such as adjusting the vertical fracture permeability, the relative permeability, the aquifer properties, setting fault transmissibility, and the matrix and fracture compressibilities.

The results of the History matching showed excellent agreement between the simulation and the historical profile. Furthermore the recent validated data by history matching have been used for the Iraqi reservoir model by running the CMG/IMEX simulator.

Translating Food and Drink-Related Insults in Shakespeare’s (Henry IV) into Arabic
...Show More Authors

This study highlights the problems of translating Shakespeare's food and drink-related insults (henceforth FDRIs) in (Henry IV, Parts I&II) into Arabic. It adopts (Vinay & Darbelnet's:1950s) model, namely (Direct& Oblique) to highlight the applicability of the different methods and procedures made by the two selected translators (Mashati:1990 & Habeeb:1905) .The present study tries to answer the following questions:(i) To what extent the FDRIs in Henry IV might pose a translational problem for the selected translators to find suitable cultural equivalents for them? (ii) Why do the translators, in many cases, resort to a literal procedure which is almost not worka

Photobleaching Influence in Different Phases for Coumarin 307 and Acriflavine Laser Dyes
...Show More Authors

Abstract: Under high-excitation irradiance conditions to induce fluorescence, the dependence of photobleaching of Coumarin 307 (C307) and acriflavine (ACF) laser dyes in liquid and solid phases have been studied. A cw LD laser source of 1 mW and 407 nm wavelength was used as an exciting source. For one hour exposure time, it was found that the solid dye samples suffer photobleaching more than the liquid dye samples. This is because in liquid solutions the dye molecules can circulate during the irradiation, while the photobleaching is a serious problem when the dye is incorporated into solid matrix and cannot circulate.

Relation between Body Iron Store and Insulin Resistance in Type 2 Diabetes
...Show More Authors

The clinical impact of interaction between body iron status (serum iron and ferritin) and type 2 diabetes has been investigated in this study. Thirty-six females were enrolled, eighteen type 2 diabetes and eighteen apparently healthy. These two groups were matched for age and body mass index BMI. The eighteen diabetes females were matched for age, BMI, pharmacological treatment (oral hypoglycemic agent), and chronic diabetes complications. The biochemical parameters measured for both groups (control and diabetes patient) were fasting insulin (Io), fasting blood glucose (Go), serum iron and ferritin. A significant increase in all parameters in patients compared to healthy control was noticed. The insulin resistance (IR) which was calculat

Traditional and molecular methods for diagnosing bacterial meningitis in Erbil city, Iraq
...Show More Authors

Bacterial meningitis is a leading cause of illness and death worldwide. It is crucial for clinical and public health care, as well as disease control, to identify the meningitis-causing agent promptly. Between June 2021-February 2022, a total of 100 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood samples were collected from suspected cases of meningitis admitted to Raparin Paediatric Teaching Hospital, Erbil city-Iraq. Cytochemical, cultural, and biochemical tests were conducted, and confirmed by molecular techniques. Bacterial culture findings were positive in 7% of CSF samples and just one positive among blood samples. The most common pathogens found by cultural characteristics and VITEK 2 Compact System were Staphylococcus sciuri in two

Hybrid Framework To Exclude Similar and Faulty Test Cases In Regression Testing
...Show More Authors

Regression testing is a crucial phase in the software development lifecycle that makes sure that new changes/updates in the software system don’t introduce defects or don’t affect adversely the existing functionalities. However, as the software systems grow in complexity, the number of test cases in regression suite can become large which results into more testing time and resource consumption. In addition, the presence of redundant and faulty test cases may affect the efficiency of the regression testing process. Therefore, this paper presents a new Hybrid Framework to Exclude Similar & Faulty Test Cases in Regression Testing (ETCPM) that utilizes automated code analysis techniques and historical test execution data to

The mind map represents a system to solve problems including design problems, because it depends on employing the complex and purposeful mental activity, which starts from a desire based on the search and investigation in order to reach integrated results of scientific thinking, utilizing the objective view of the scientific and practical aspects from various angles. This visual system can develop thinking and shorten the retrieval time of the previous information in order to employ it in the solution finding system, that it evokes past experiences and relates them to current situations, then enables the user to choose a suitable solution for the problems. This visual, educational and circulatory means, at the same time, has speci
