Forty isolates of Bacillus spp. were isolated from fifty samples including different source of soil to detect the ability to produce keratinase enzyme in liquid state fermentation, Bacillus (Bs13)was the highest keratinase producer , it was identified as a strain of Bacillus licheniformis. The optimum conditions for keratinase productions were in a media contains keratin 4% (hooves) as a carbon and nitrogen and energy sources, peptone 1% as a secondary nitrogen source with pH 8 , inculums size 1%, and incubated at 37Co for 24 hrs.

During a survey on the helminthic parasites of three species of turtles in the north part of Iraq, five species of nematodes were recorded for the first time in Iraq. They were all found in the intestine. These are, Camallanus microcephalus (Dujardin, 1845) recorvered from the turtle Clemmys caspica; Spironoura japonensis (Yamaguti, 1935) from Triopyx eup¬hraticus and Angusticaecum holopterum (Rudolphi, 1819), and Tachygonetria nicollei (Seurat, 1918) from the turtle Testudo graeca. All of the localities and hosts are newly recorded in Iraq.

The effect of saline magnetized water irrigation on seed germination and seedling growth of wheat cultivar Iraq were studied. Irrigation water was supplemented with different levels of Sodium chloride 6, 12 or 18 mmhos/ cm in addition control treatment, and passed through a proper magnetic felid with 1000, 1250, 1500 or 2000 gaus in addition control treatment. The results showed significantly stimulated shoot development and led to the increase of germination, seedling emergence, area leaf, length of shoot and root and fresh and dry weight compared to the controls. Presence of ica A and D genes in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus was evaluated for biofilm production by the microtiter plate method.
