Prevalence of coronary artery disease in patients with left bundle branch block and its association with risk factors hypertension and diabetes mellitus
...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background:

Left bundle branch block (LBBB) is a common finding in electrocardiography, there are many causes of LBBB.

Objectives:

The aim of this study is to discuss the true prevalence of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with LBBB and associated risk factors in the form of hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

Materials and Methods:

Patients with LBBB were admitted to the Iraqi heart center for cardiac disease in December 2017 to the end of April 2021; all patients underwent coronary angiography and they are classified into three groups: group 1: patients with proximal left anterior descending artery (LAD) or mid-LAD and either left circumflex artery (LCX) or right coronary artery (RCA) with lesion consider significant if more than 70% stenosis of the artery, group 2: patients with either isolated LCX or RCA with lesion if more than 70% stenosis of the artery, group 3: patients with normal coronary artery.

Results:

The most important finding in this study is that the percentage of LAD artery lesions or two vessels disease was only 24.5%. Patients in group 1 showed a high prevalence of hypertension (77.6%), whereas in group 3, the prevalence of hypertension was 47.95%. In this study, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in group 1 was high (62.2%), whereas in group 3, it was 32%.

Conclusion:

High prevalence of men with LBBB than women, and the prevalence of LBBB increases with age. Patients who had hypertension and diabetes mellitus with LBBB most likely had an ischemic cause of LBBB, but patients with LBBB had low ejection fraction (EF) 369 out of 400 patients (90%) had low EF.

NATURE OF VARIABILITY OF CANDAHARIA LEVANDERI (SIMROTH, 1902) IN THE FERGHANA AND SURKHAN - SHERABAD VALLEYS, UZBEKISTAN
...Show More Authors

The variability of Candaharia levanderi (Simroth, 1902)(Gastropoda, Stylommatophora, Parmacellidae) in two biotopes (southern and northern slopes, the Kampirtepa gorges, the Kugitang Tau ridge) has been investigated using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with the implementation of primers, the 18S DNA of the region is amplified, the variability (sharply differing in color) of two populations of C. levanderi is studied .
The first population is in the suburbs of Namangan, (Namangan Region); the second population is in Kampirtepa gorges, Kugitang Tau ridge (Surkhandarya Region). It is established that, most often, the variability of morphological signs is observed on the coloration of mollusks. The development of body coloration is an ad

An Analytical Comparison of the Behavior of Machine Learning and Deep Learning in Stock Market Prediction
...Show More Authors

Machine learning is considered a powerful technique in many applications such as classification, clustering, recognition and prediction. Deep learning is a modern, vital and superior machine learning that gives stunning performance, especially with huge data. Stock market price prediction is the process of determining the future value of a prospect of a financial instrument traded in the market, to gain a great profit a successful prediction must be conducted, in order to achieve that machine learning is used, in this article, two approaches are proposed to predict the stock market prices and movement using two datasets, the first approach employs two machine learning models (J48 & logistic regression) while the second approach based on rec

Predominant Mechanisms in the Treatment of Wastewater Due to Interaction of Benzaldehyde and Iron Slag Byproduct
...Show More Authors

Iron slag is a byproduct generated in huge quantities from recycled remnants of iron and steel factories; therefore, the possibility of using this waste in the removal of benzaldehyde from contaminated water offers an excellent topic in sustainability field. Results reveal that the removal efficiency was equal to 85% for the interaction of slag and water contaminated with benzaldehyde at the best operational conditions of 0.3 g/100 mL, 6, 180 min, and 250 rpm for the sorbent dosage, initial pH, agitation time, and speed, respectively with 300 mg/L initial concentration. The maximum uptake capacity of iron slag was 118.25 mg/g which was calculated by the Langmuir model. Physical sorption may be the major mechanism for the removal of

Abstract
<title>Objectives

The last decade has seen a variety of modifications of glass-ionomer cements (GICs), such as inclusion of bioactive glass particles and dispensing systems. Hence, the aim was to systematically evaluate effect of mixing modes and presence of reactive glass additives on the physical properties of several GICs.

Materials and methods

The physical properties of eight commercial restorative GICs; Fuji IX GP Extra (C&H), KetacTM Fill Plus Applicap (C&H), Fuji II LC (C&H), Glass Carbomer Ce

Pathway of total petroleum hydrocarbon in a lotic ecosystem: water and sediment of Tigris River, Iraq
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The monitoring of lotic ecosystems is an important issue. This study investigated the total petroleum hydrocarbons (THP) in the Tigris River within Baghdad City, Iraq, which is considered the ultimate water supply source of the city. The study included measurement of THP concentrations, distribution, and origins of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) in various matrices (water, sediment, and macrophyte) in Tigris River within Baghdad City, in addition to some environmental factors during two seasons (dry and wet) for October 2020 to April 2021. The sampling was collected from three sites along the river. Thirteen compounds were identified in the current investigation from total petroleum h</p> ... Show More

Verification of radon, radium, polonium concentrations and lung cancer rates in blood of female hookah smokers
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>Hookah smoking has become very popular in Iraq among women and men. Hookah tobacco contains natural radioactive elements, such as radon, radium, and uranium, as well as toxic elements, such as polonium, which are released during the combustion of tobacco and are inhaled by smoking. Most reviews focus on hookah tobacco, and only a few have investigated the blood of hookah smokers. In this study, a CR-39 detector was used to measure radon, radium, and polonium concentrations and conduct risk assessments in female hookah smokers of different ages. The results show that the concentrations of radon-222, polonium-218, and polonium-214 varied between 61.62 and 384.80, 5.45–33.64 on the wal</p> ... Show More

Assessment of the Cost and Time Impact of Variation Orders on Construction Projects in Sulaimani Governorate
...Show More Authors

Variation orders are an on-going phenomenon in construction and industry projects worldwide, particularly in the province of Sulaimani, where the project's damage from cost and schedule overrun because of variation orders. However, the effect on project costs and time overrun of variation order has yet to be identified. This study evaluates the impact of variation orders on the cost and time off in the Sulaimani governorate. Two hundred twenty-eight projects from various construction sectors built between 2007-2012 were adopted to calculate the contract cost and schedule overruns due to variation orders. Data analysis was applied in the study were descriptive statistics. One-way ANOVA was also applied to determine w
