Variation of non-diatomic algae in a martyr monument lake under different climate factors
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The current study was conducted in the environment of the Martyr Monument Lake in the city center of Baghdad during 2019 to monitor the impact of climatic conditions such as drought, water shortage, high temperatures in the environment of the city and the lack of water flow during the years 2015 to 2018 and their effects on some of the physical and chemical factors of water and the dynamics of the phytoplankton community in the lake environment. Heterogeneity of some studied environmental factors, including air and water temperature, permeability, water depth, pH, DO, BOD5, nutrients, nitrate, NO3, and phosphates were found. The results showed the effect of climate change and the presence of organic pollution in addition to the influence of the nature of sites. Sampling on the studied characteristics, which in turn affected the phytoplankton community. The results showed the fluctuations in the rates of air and water temperature, which were between 17 - 41 ° C and 10 - 32 ° C, respectively, as well as the fluctuation of light transmittance rates and water depth according to the different stations and seasons, as they ranged between 0.12-57.02 cm and 120.5- 289.30cm. The pond water was characterized by being neutral and tilted to alkaline in terms of pH 7.0-9.1. The values of dissolved oxygen and vital oxygen requirement rise in winter and gradually decreased in spring and autumn, and the lowest values in summer were 2.4-15.13 mg / liter 0.4-10.6 mg / liter, respectively. The changes in nitrate values rise in winter and decreased in summer in all locations, where they ranged between 2.2 - 12.4 mg, in contrast to phosphate, it increased in the summer winter 0.0033 - 0.5 mg / liter. The qualitative study of phytoplankton identified 125 species belonging to 46 genera. It belongs to 5 classes in which the class of green algae prevailed with 69 species, followed by blue-green algae (39 species), while Euglenophyta and Pyrrophyta recorded 7 species each, while the Cryptophyta algae recorded only 3 types. The study showed that the decrease in the water level and the fluctuation of temperature led to an increase in blue-green algae in areas of organic pollution in which some species such as Microcystis aeruginosa and Oscillatoria spp. Causing the appearance of unpleasant odors and the secretion of deadly toxins to the aqueous medium.</p>

Auditing performance of revenue sources in the Non-Governmental Organizations And its role in achieving financial sustainability
...Show More Authors

Researching performance audits according to the dimensions of financial sustainability in light of the scarcity of resources and economic and social transformations in the business environment is of utmost importance in the non-profit non-governmental organizations in achieving the goals and correct the path and address deviations, and help them in improving the outputs of processes and associated procedures and capacity The research was based on the hypothesis that the existence of a performance audit program in accordance with the dimensions of financial sustainability leads to the measurement of the commitment of the Olympic Committee. National Iraqi indicators of financial sustainability of the dimension of revenue in order to improv

Gingival Marginal Leakage of Different Tooth Colored Materials Combination as an Intermediate Layer in Class II Composite Restoration (A Comparative In Vitro Study)
...Show More Authors

Background: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate and compare the microleakage between Vertise Flow T M composite material and other conventional (Filtek Z250, riva light cure and SDR) composite materials when restoring CII mesial box only cavity at gingival margin through die penetration test Materials and methods: Forty maxillary first premolars were prepared with class II box design only cavities. Samples were divided into four groups of ten teeth according to material used: group I (FiltekZ250 only). Group II (SDR+FiltekZ250). Group III (Vertise Flow +FiltekZ250). Group IV (Riva light cure+ FiltekZ250). After 24 hrs. immersion in 2% in methylene blue, samples were sectioned and micro leakage was estimated. Results: None of the

A Study Of Corrosion Behavior Of Low Carbon Steel In Acidic And Basic Washing Water Of Crude Oil Solution At Different Temperatures
...Show More Authors

The corrosion behavior of low carbon steel in washing water of crude oil solution has been studied potentiostatically at five temperatures in the range ( 303 –343 )K, at pH ( 4 ) and at pH (4,6,7,9,11 ) at (343K)..The corrosion potential shifted to more negative values with increasing temperature and the corrosion current density increased with increasing temperature, the corrosion current density (icorr) decreased with increasing pH in the rang ( 4 – 7 ) and it increased with increasing pH in the rang ( 9 – 11 ) at ( 343 K ), while the corrosion potential generally variation with increasing pH in the rang (4-11)at(343K. From the general results for this study can be seen that thermodynamic and kinetic function were

Seasonal variation and correlation between the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of Nile water in selected area in Egypt (Case study): physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of Nile water
...Show More Authors

Fresh water resources in terms of water quality is a crucial issue worldwide. In Egypt, the Nile River is the main source of fresh water in the country and monitoring its water quality is a major task on governments and research levels. In the present case study, the physical, chemical and algal distribution in Nile River was monitored over two seasons (winter and summer) in 2019. The aims of the study were to check the seasonal variation among the different water parameters and also to check the correlations between those parameters. Water samples were collected from the Nile in Cairo governorate in EGYPT. The different physiochemical and microbiological properties in water samples were assessed. The studied parameters were included: te

Integrated biomass algae @ cross-linked pyromellitic dianhydride chitosan biocomposite for methyl violet 2B adsorption: modelling and experiment design optimization
...Show More Authors

A new adsorbent was developed by integrating algae biomass (AG) into a chitosan (CN) matrix, followed by structural enhancement via crosslinking with pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) through a hydrothermal synthesis approach. This process resulted in the formation of a robust AG@CN-PMDA composite with improved physicochemical characteristics suitable for advanced adsorption applications. The AG@CN-PMDA composite was evaluated for its efficiency in removal of the cationic dye methyl violet 2B (MV 2B) from aqueous solution. The adsorption process was refined through the Box-Behnken design (RSM-BBD), evaluating three essential parameters: adsorbent dosage (A: 0.02–0.1 g/100 mL), pH (B: 4–10), and time (C: 5–20 min). The ideal conditions f

Effect of Perfluorooctanoic Acid on Kidney Function in Diabetic and Non-‎‎Diabetic Male Guinea Pigs
...Show More Authors

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is a synthetic fluor-surfactant chemical used widely in ‎products that resist oil, heat, grease, stains, and water. It is also used in producing other ‎fluoropolymers. The main sources of exposure to PFOA are water, soil, and animal-‎origin food (meat, fish, and dairy products). The aim of this study to evaluate the renal ‎function following oral gavage of sub-lethal dose of PFOA in diabetic and non-diabetic ‎guinea pigs. The experiment run for 4 weeks, total of 40 male guinea pigs, ‎‎(Cavia porcellus), were randomly selected and grouped into four equal groups. The first ‎group (G1) served as the negative control; 2nd group (G2) alloxan induced diabetic, 3rd ‎group (G3) non-diabeti
