Zubair Formation is the most productive reservoir in southern Iraq, which is comprised of sandstones, interbedded with shale sequences and sometimes carbonate rock. It is an important formation in the lower Cretaceous cycle in Iraq. Rumaila oil field is the largest oil field in Iraq and the 6th in the world. Two wells were studied for three depths, one in the southern Rumaila and the other in the north. The study focused on light and heavy minerals in sand fractions and their relationship with hydrocarbon assemblages.     Three monogenean species of the genus Gyrodactylus viz. G. cotti Roman, 1956 on gills of Planiliza abu, G. mikailovi Ergens & Ibragimov, 1976 on gills of Chondrostoma regium and G. prostae Ergens, 1963 on gills of Alburnus caeruleus were recorded from Tigris river at Al-Shawwaka region, Baghdad. The description and measurements of these parasites as well as their illustrations where given. All these parasites are recorded here for the first time in Iraq.  
 

During the winter, in the industry region (Shaikh Omer) and by applying a passive radon detector (CR-39), lung cancer risk has been measured in twelve rooms of different workshops of two old factories in this site. The radon concentration is ranged from (123.345 Bq/m³) to (328.985 Bq/m³) with an average of (244.19±61.52 Bq/m³). Lung cancer risk ranged from 55.993 to 149.346 per million people and with an average of (110.855 per million people) which were lower than the recommended values (170-230 per million people), so there was no cancer risk on workers in these locations.

The objective of the present study is to determine the anti-obesity effects of Akkermansia munciniphila  on some biometric measurements. 40 patients were divided into two groups, each with 20 patients; G1 group consumed the probiotic of A. munciphila   and G2   consumed placebo capsules. The results  showed significant effects on the body weight (p≤ 0.001), which was reduced by a range of -2.29 to -0.7, whereas non-significant differences were observed in the Waist circumferance  . This study concluded detection of Toxoplasma gondii in milk, immunologically by using Elisa and nested PCR)nPCR (based on B1 gene, also to investigate the effect of toxoplasmosis, parity, breed and flock on some milk composition in the Iraqi local and Shami goats in the middle of Iraq. A total of 80 milk samples of the lactating goats were collected. Results of this study showed the prevalence of Toxoplasmosis was 21.25% and 28.75% by Elisa and nPCR respectively without significant differences.
