Le Diable et Le bon Dieu de Jean-Paul Sartre est une pièce polémique qui a suscité des critiques en raison de ses questions religieuses et existentielles. L’un des exemples; c’est le personnage de Nasty qui se trouve entre le choix de collaborer avec le diable pour un but moral, et le choix de rester fidèle aux principes moraux sans collaborer, ce qui pourrait sauver le peuple du ville. Le dilemme de Goetz se présente de l’autre côté afin de représenter une dualité entre choisir de rester puissant, mais injuste, ou choisir de se libérer de cette personnalité et d’être à côté du peuple. C’est ici que réside la philosophie de l’existentialisme, notamment sur les termes de la liberté et de la responsabilité. Encore, Les deux images les plus essentielles dans cette œuvre théâtral sont celles du Diable, qui manipule les personnages et qui tente de les priver de leur liberté de choix, et celles de Dieu qui demeure ambigu et indifférent, ce qui donne la chance aux protagonistes d’être libre, et ce qui les encourager à choisir et à réagir. Donc, cette étude permet de comprendre la réflexion sartrienne sur l’existence humaine, le Bien et le Mal, grâce à: Le Diable et le bon Dieu
