The fatty acids in the embryo's liver at ages (7, 11, 14 and 19) days incubation, small chicken aged (14) days after hatching and adult were analyzed, and found (5) fatty acids, the highest concentration of fatty acid in the adult of domesticated chicken and lowest concentration in small chicken age (14) days after hatching. Statistically, there were high significant differences at the probability level (P≤0.001) between all ages together, and the highest concentrations of Oleic acid (C18:1) and Linoleic acid (C18:2) were in embryo age (7) days incubation, while in embryo age (11) days incubation Stearic acid (C18:0) and α-Linolenic acid (C18:3) were higher concentration and Palmitic acid (C16:0) was the highest concentration in the adult. Stearic, Palmitic, Linoleic and α-Linolenic acids were recorded as the lowest concentration as well as in a small chicken age (14) days after hatching. Oleic acid had the lowest concentration in the embryo (19) days incubation, as well as α-Linolenic acid in the embryos age (7, 19) days incubation and the adult chicken did not record any concentration.
During the period from September 2013 till the end of July 2014, a total of 340 birds Passer domesticus were collected . The study revealed in exam the sectional tissue of intestine in infected birds which showed a high effect compared with the uninfected birds . These effects were summarized by the destruction in most of intestinal villi and atrophy of others which appeared as webby filaments with each other and their cells have cubidal form
... Show MoreThe primitive streak and notochord and previously the anterior marginal crescent (AMC), anterior visceral endoderm (AVE) and the anterior hypoblast (AHB) are embryonic entities which identify main body axes and thus establish body plan in the early stages of embryonic development. All of the anterior pre-gastrulation differentiation structures are addressed terminology as anterior pre-gastrulation differentiation (APD). These structures are defined morphologically and are called in mouse (AVE), in rabbit (AMC) and in the pig (AHB). The anterior hypoblast cells of APD are higher and denser than at the opposite pole of the embryo. Moreover, the APD stretches variously between species and has different shapes in the mammalian embryos, for exam
... Show MoreBackground: liver diseases may not be recognized by clinicians, who can lead to a subsequent delay
in the initiation of effective therapies, the commonest presenting signs and symptoms of pediatric liver
diseases include hepatomegaly, jaundice, coagulopathy or elevation of the liver enzymes or waste
products as ammonia.
Objectives: To highlight the etiologies, pattern of presentations and the route of diagnosis of all liver
diseases in children less than 10 years referred to the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit in
Children Welfare Teaching Hospital over a six months period.
Patients and methods: A prospective study was conducted in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Unit in the Children Welfare Teaching Hospi
Background: Mitochondria are the cell’s powerhouse, the site where the vast majority of ATP is synthesized. Mitochondrial activity represent a central checkpoint for detection of the difference between cancer cells and normal cells at the metabolic profile.
Objective: To find out if there is a correlation between in vitro transformation and mitochondrial activity, by measuring the activity during clonal evolution of the locally established rat embryo fibroblast (REF) cell line throughout studying different passages.
Materials & Methods: The (REF) cell line, was in vitro cultured. Mitochondria were isolated by differential centrifugation following Mitochondria Isolation Kit. Enzymatic activity of intact mitochondria has been m
Background: Total serum sialic acid (TSA) and lipid associated sialic acid (LSA) have not been measured yet in depressive disorders.
Aim :The present study was undertaken to show if there is any change in the concentration of different forms of sialic acids in patients with depressive disorder.
Methods: TSA and LSA levels have been estimated in serum of 72 patients with depression, in addition to 50 healthy controls .
Results reflect a significant increase (p<0.05) in the TSA and BSA in the depressed patients as compared with healthy controls.
Conclusions: It could be concluded that TSA and BSA could reflect an immune like response to depression associated with increase in the sialylation of differ
Densities ρ and viscosities η for several concentrations of amino acids (Serine, Cysteine and Threonine) at different temperatures (298.15, 303.15 and 308.15K) have been measured. On the basis of these data, the apparent molal volumes v , partial molal volumes at infinite dilution v , slope Sv , Gibbs free energy of activation for viscous flow of solution ∆G1,2 and Jones – Dole Bcoefficients were calculated the nature of solute-solvent and solute-solute interactions have been discussed in terms of the values of v , v , Sv and B-coefficents
Background: Tympanometry findings are considered by many investigators to be associated with passive and active smoking.
Patients and methods: One hundred forty healthy adult men aged (20-50 years). 70 smokers and 70 nonsmokers were recruited for the study. The examination included otoscopy, and screening tympanometry. Smoking history was ascertained by self –report. For each subject, age, smoking status and number of cigarettes per day were noted.
Results: There is a tendency for more negative middle ear pressure in smokers than in non-smokers though this difference may not clinically significant. There were no significant differences in ear canal volume, middle ear compliance and presence of Staped
