The role of some antioxidants in reducing oxidative stress in female hypothyroidism patients with type II diabetes: a randomized controlled clinical trial
...Show More Authors

Background: Hypothyroidism and type 2 diabetes are common conditions worldwide, with hypothyroidism affecting 4–10% of the population and type 2 diabetes affecting approximately 10% of adults globally. The increasing co-occurrence of these two conditions may contribute to increased oxidative stress and associated complications. Low levels of antioxidants are linked to hypothyroidism with type II diabetes because of the growth and production of free radicals, which makes patients more susceptible to oxidative stress. Objective: It was to assess how low antioxidants may exacerbate the pathogenic state of type 2 diabetic hypothyroid patients. Methods: 140 hypothyroid individuals with type 2 diabetes, ages 25 to 60, were assigned to take supplements every day with either intervention group before Eltroxin,( n = 50) (intervention group after Eltroxin, n=50) ( placebo group, n=40) for twelve weeks, take two capsules of vitamin E (268 mg, 400 IU), and one pill of selenium (200 mcg). Serum malondialdehyde (MDA), total antioxidant status (TAS), glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), and fasting serum glucose (FSG) were measured using laboratory kits. Meanwhile, thyroid hormones were measured using (ELISA) technique. Estimates of selenium) Se) and vitamin E were obtained using atomic absorption spectroscopy and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), respectively. Results: The levels of MDA, TAS, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), FSG, HbA1c, and oxidative stress index (OSI) did not differ significantly (p>0.05) between the patient group and placebo participants, according to this study. Vit E and Se levels in the placebo group are not markedly distinct from those in the sick team (p>0.05). Increased degrees of MDA, TAS, OSI, and TSH noticeably (p<0.05) were observed in the placebo group. After taking the medicine, the T4 level was lower noticeably (p<0.05 than that of the patients after taking the medicine. Conclusion: Individuals with hypothyroidism with type 2 diabetes may prevent hypothyroidism by consuming dietary supplements containing antioxidants, which reduce oxidative stress and promote overall health. A Comparative Study of the Right and Left Carotid Arteries in Relation to Age for Patients With Diabetes and Hypertension
...Show More Authors
Introduction:

Age, hypertension, and diabetes can cause significant alterations in arterial structure and function, including changes in lumen diameter (LD), intimal-medial thickness (IMT), flow velocities, and arterial compliance. These are also considered risk markers of atherosclerosis and cerebrovascular disease. A difference between right and left carotid artery blood flow and IMT has been reported by some researchers, and a difference in the incidence of nonlacunar stroke has been reported between the right and left brain hemispheres. The aim of this study was to determine whether there are differences between the right and left common carotid arteries and internal carotid arteries in patient

Urodynamic findings of bladder dysfunction in patients with Type 2 DM
...Show More Authors

Bladder dysfunction is one of the most common complications of diabetes, even exceeding nephropathy or peripheral neuropathy. Diabetic cystopathyaffects patients in both sexes, and its prevalence increases over time with diabetes; our concern is to evaluate the urodynamic findings of bladder dysfunction in diabetic patients.A cross sectional study conducted at Ghazi Al-Hariri Surgical specialized hospital during the period from the firsts of January 2018 to the end of Mar 2019, in which 118 diabetic patients (71 female and 47 male) with lower urinary tract symptoms were enrolled in the current study. The mean age (62±13) years old, 37.3% of patients presented with urgency as the main type of dysfunction. Diabetic cystopathy were fo

THE ROLE OF BACTERIA IN REDUCING THE IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION: BETWEEN RISKS AND BENEFITS / A REVIEW ARTICLE
...Show More Authors

The objective of this article is to study the impact of environmental pollution on air, water, and soil quality with a focus on the role of environmental bacteria in bioremediation of pollutants. The research also addresses the ability of some strains of bacteria to remove heavy metals and petroleum hydrocarbons and degrade toxic substances, resulting in improved environmental quality. Outcomes: Empirical studies reveal that environmental pollution leads to significant health and environmental problems, such as a rise in respiratory disease as a result of air pollution, water pollution that affects aquatic life, and soil pollution that decreases crop output. Other bacterial strains such as Pseudomonas, Bacillus, and Streptomyces have also b

Study the Effect of Folic Acid as A supplement on Selected Oxidative Stress and Biochemical Parameters in First Trimester of Pregnancy
...Show More Authors

Folic acid modulates several disorders in humans, pregnancy mostly because of the mitochondria-rich placenta, is a condition that favors oxidative stress.Transitional metals, especially iron, which are particularly abundant in the placenta, are important in the production of free radicals. Adenosine deaminase (ADA), an enzyme essential for the differentiation of lymphoid cells, has been used for monitoring diseases with altered immunity. In the present study we investigated the effect of regular and irregular administered folic acid in the first and second trimester of pregnancy to be compared with non-pregnant women ,and also the effect of regular and irregular using of folic acid  supplement on  oxidative stress parameters an

Comparing Weibull Stress – Strength Reliability Bayesian Estimators for Singly Type II Censored Data under Different loss Functions
...Show More Authors

The stress(Y) – strength(X) model reliability Bayesian estimation which defines life of a component with strength X and stress Y (the component fails if and only if at any time the applied stress is greater than its strength) has been studied, then the reliability; R=P(Y<X), can be considered as a measure of the component performance. In this paper, a Bayesian analysis has been considered for R when the two variables X and Y are independent Weibull random variables with common parameter α in order to study the effect of each of the two different scale parameters β and λ; respectively, using three different [weighted, quadratic and entropy] loss functions under two different prior functions [Gamma and extension of Jeffery
