Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition associated with chronic anovulation, and androgen excess. Clinically, PCOS women usually presents with menstrual irregularities, infertility, and hirsutism. Women with this syndrome are at increased risk of metabolic syndrome (MS).
Patients and Methods:
This study was conducted during the period from March 2013 until the end of September 2013. A total of 50 PCOS women were studied   (25 PCOS women with MS and 25 PCOS women without MS) with an age ranged from (35-45) years. Women with PCOS were referred to Medical City Hospital in Baghdad and compared with 25 healthy women as control group. Serum luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle

states in the 13C nucleus. 4He is considered as an inert core with
nine nucleons out of it (the model space of nucleus). Form factors are calculated by
using Cohen-Kurath interaction for 1p-shell model space with Modified Surface
Delta Interaction (MSDI) as a residual interaction for higher configuration. The
study of core-polarization effects on the form factors is based on microscopic
theory, which combines shell model wave functions and configurations with higher
energy as the first order perturbation. The radial wave functions

Comparison between diode laser and scalpel for lip lengthening in patients with gummy smile
...Show More Authors

Background: lip lengthening procedure is one of the surgical options for the correction of gummy smile in patients with short upper lip. Methods: A comparative clinical study was conducted on 15 patients requiring lip lengthening procedure for the esthetic correction of excessive gingival exposure with gummy smile. Scalpel was used in seven patients and diode laser in the remaining eight patients. Under infiltration anesthesia, about one cm strip of mucosa was excised at the vestibular depth and the mucosa of the lip was sutured to the alveolar mucosa. Results: The diode laser group demonstrated less postoperative pain and swelling. Regarding postoperative ecchymosis, three patients in the scalpel group developed ecchymosis and no cases

Left Ventricle Remodeling for Patients with Heart Failure and its Influence on Cardiac Performance
...Show More Authors

Background: Many cardiac diseases can cause cardiac hypertrophy developed by the established cardiac overload, such as long term of uncontrolled hypertension, valvuler disease or congenital anomaly and many more causes. If the cause of hypertrophy persists for long time it will generate heart failure, as a result changes in size, shape and function of the heart which refer as remodeling.
Objective: To investigate the types of remodeling in patients with heart failure, and study its relation with cardiac performance.
Patients and methods: The study included fifty normal individuals and fifty patients, only those patients who developed hypertrophy and failure were chosen. The study has included the measurements of many cardiac parame
