EXTRACELLULAR SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE CHANGES IN PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT BRAIN TUMORS
The Specific activity of extracellular superoxide dismutase (EC-SOD) was measured in healthy persons and in patients with benign and malignant brain tumors. The results show decrease of the EC-SOD specific activity in sera of patients with benign and malignant brain tumors in comparison to that of control group.This study concentrated on studying the changes that occur in sera EC-SOD activity of patients with benign and malignant brain tumors, in comparison to that of normal individuals. The result also revealed that this isoenzyme is present in many different molecular weights forms (as judged by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis), some of these with no enzymatic activity. Preparation and in-Vitro Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Clotrimazole Vaginal Hydrogel
Clotrimazole (CLO) is an antimycotic imidazole derivative applied locally for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections. In this study, CLO was formulated as vaginal mucoadhesive hydrogel, using different types of mucoadhesive polymers to ensure prolonged contact between active ingredient and vaginal mucosa.
Physicochemical properties of the prepared formulas were evaluated as a visual inspection, pH, swelling index, spreadability, and mucoadhesive characteristics, in addition to an in-vitro drug release. Oral carcinoma is the 6th most common cancer in the world. MicroRNAs are small non-coding single stranded RNAs. They have been shown to be capable of altering mRNA expression; thus some are oncogenic or tumor suppressive in nature. The salivary microRNA-31 has been proposed as a sensitive marker for oral malignancy since it was abundant in saliva more than in plasma. A total of 55 whole saliva samples were collected from 35 cases diagnosed with OC their ages and gender matched with 20 healthy subjects. TaqManq RT-PCR was performed for RNA samples. Frankenstein Complex in Daniel H. Wilson's Robopocalypse ( ): Artificial Intelligence Conspiracies
With the advent of technology
the fear of losing control has consistently
accompanied humanity. While humans have discovered
invented
and
created many remarkable things
they have also been haunted by the
possibility of their creations turning against them. This fear
often referred to
as the Frankenstein Complex
derives its name from Mary Shelley's
Frankenstein ()
in which Dr. Frankenstein's creation ultimately destroys
its maker. The Frankenstein Complex embodies the subconscious fear of
artificial intelligence (AI) surpassing and potentially dominating humankind.
This apprehension has inspired numerous literary works
including Daniel H.
Wilson’s novels. The present study examines the widespread fear of AI
which has fueled conspiracy theories in literature. These theories have not
only amplified public anxiety but also hindered understanding among those
with limited knowledge of AI and robotics. Dr. Wilson
a robotics expert
uses
his imagination as a driving force for both his writing and his inventions. The
research focuses on incidents leading to the rise of robots
the concept of the
New War
how it was fought
and how it concluded. By comparing
contrasting
and analyzing literary elements and devices with prominent
conspiracy theories
the study highlights the interplay between fiction and
scientific development. The researchers conclude that while many conspiracy
theories contain elements of truth
they often inspire scientists to explore them
further. Additionally
some conspiracy theories warrant serious
consideration. The study recommends acknowledging the Frankenstein
Complex while maintaining faith in the potential benefits of artificial
intelligence.

The wall of the esophagus in Mabuya aurata septemaeniata as in high vertebrates consists of four layers, mucosa, submucosa,muscularis and serosa. Mucosa forms many unorganized short and long folds penetrate inside the esophageal cavity. Mucosa contains two sub layers, first one is lining epithelium which includes two types of cells, simple ciliated columnar epithelial cells and goblet cells, second one is lamina properia. Mucosa does not have muscularis mucosa. There is no esophageal glands within esophagus. Many special stains were used as (Periodic Acid Schiff (PAS)) to detect Carbohydrates in goblet cells. Predicting maize ear grain weight in situ by ear dimensions
To find out a simple and efficient equation to estimate maize ear grain weight on farm (in situ), twenty three maize crosses along with two synthetics were grown in the field. On the experimental farm of the Dept. of Field Crop Sci., College of Agric., Univ. of Baghdad, seeds of twenty five maize genotypes were grown in the fall season of 2013 with three replicates. At dough stage of the kernels, five naked ears of each experimental units were measured for length and maximum diameter. This will sum up 125 ears of the trial.
