Competitive biosorption of Pb(II), Cr(III), and Cd (II) from synthetic wastewater onto heterogeneous anaerobic biomass in single, binary, and ternary batch systems
...Show More Authors

Biosorption of lead, chromium, and cadmium ions from aqueous solution by dead anaerobic biomass (DAB) was studied in single, binary, and ternary systems with initial concentration of 50 mg/l. The metal-DAB affinity was the same for all systems. The main biosorption mechanisms were complexation and physical adsorption of metallic cations onto natural active functional groups on the cell wall matrix of the DAB. It was found that biosorption of the metallic cations onto DAB cell wall component was a surface process. The main functional groups involved in the metallic cation biosorption were apparently carboxyl, amino, hydroxyle, sulfhydryl, and sulfonate. These groups were part of the DAB cell wall structural polymers. Hydroxyle groups (–O

Efficiency and Safety of Desferioxamine Chelation Therapy in Paediatric Patients with Transfusion-Dependent Anaemia: Experience of two Centres from Sudan
...Show More Authors

Background: Repeated blood transfusion   is   the main   therapeutic option for transfusion-dependent anaemias with consequent iron overload and organ damage .Therefore iron chelating agents are important protective measures for these patients. The aim of this study was  to investigate  the efficiency and safety of Desferroxamine  in paediatrics population subjected  to iron overload as a consequence  of repeated transfusion in a group of  Sudanese children

Subjects & Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional hospital based study.  Conducted in two main paediatric reference hospitals   in, Su

Gyrotron Development at High Order Modes
...Show More Authors

The present work has been characterized by higher order modes in the cavities of the Gyrotron; they are capable of producing RF plasma by developments of it. It uses for fusion systems. We choose the TE31,8 mode in our study. The main problem of gyrotron is the device of the thermal cavity loading. The problem of the thermal loading is solved when any parasitic modes suppress, absence of desired modes; the thermal loading is increased when the high power tube of gyrotron operation is unstable. The mathematical interaction model contains equations that describe the electron motion and the field profiles of the transferred electric modes of the resonator, these are interacting with electrons based

This research is based on the study of common praise in Mutanabbi and Ibn Hani Al-Andalusi as the main purpose in poetry poets, and balance between them;

The research was divided into two topics, presented by introductory introduction for the purpose of praise, and the concept of budget in Arab criticism, and then presented a brief overview of the lives of poets.

In the first section, I dealt with the common objectivity of the poets, such as the subject of sincerity in praise, hyperbole in the person of Mamdouh, and self-esteem when asked, in addition to the most common characteristics in t

Design High Efficient Reflectivity of Distributed Bragg Reflectors
...Show More Authors

Bragg Reflectors consist of periodic dielectric layers having an optical path length of quarter wavelength for each layer giving them important properties and makes them suitable for optoelectronics applications. The reflectivity can be increased by increasing the number of layers of the mirror to get the required value. For example for an 8 layers Bragg mirror (two layers for each dielectric pair), the contrast of the refractive index has to be equal to 0.275 for reaching reflectivity > 99%. Doubling the number of layers results in a reflectivity of 99.99%. The high reflectivity is purely caused by multiple-interference effects. It can be analyzed by using different matrix methods such as the transfer matrix method (TMM) which is the

Behavior of High Strength Hybrid Reinforcement Concrete Beams
...Show More Authors

Six proposed simply supported high strength-steel fiber reinforced concrete (HS-SFRC) beams reinforced with FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) rebars were numerically tested by finite element method using ABAQUS software to investigate their behavior under the flexural failure. The beams were divided into two groups depending on their cross sectional shape. Group A consisted of four trapezoidal beams with dimensions of (height 200 mm, top width 250 mm, and bottom width 125 mm), while group B consisted of two rectangular beams with dimensions of (125 ×200) mm. All specimens have same total length of 1500 mm, and they were also considered to be made of same high strength concrete designed material with 1% volume fraction of steel fiber.

Scaling of High‐Performance Organic Permeable Base Transistors
...Show More Authors

Organic permeable‐base transistors (OPBTs) show potential for high‐speed, flexible electronics. Scaling laws of OPBTs are discussed and it is shown that OPBT performance can be increased by reducing their effective device area. Comparing the performance of optimized OPBTs with state‐of‐the‐art organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), it is shown that OPBTs have a higher potential for an increased transit frequency. Not only do OPBTs reach higher transconductance values without the need for sophisticated structuring techniques, but they are also less sensitive to parasitic contact resistances. With the help of a 2D numerical model, the reduced contact resistances of OPBTs are explained by a homogeneous injection of current acros

Occupational Stress among Doctors Work in Governmental Hospitals
...Show More Authors

The current research aims to identify the occupational stresses of doctors who are working in governmental hospitals according to the variables of gender and career ranking. The researcher adopted a scale to measure the occupational stress of (1088) doctors (561 males and 527 females) working in governmental hospitals. The results have shown that doctors have a high level of professional stress, but there is no significant difference between doctors in terms of gender. However, there were significant differences in favor of novice residents.
