Age and BMI may be used to diagnosis of thyroid autoimmune disease. One hundred Iraqi women with age ranged from 18 to 60 years participate in this research, 50 of them were hypothyroidism patients, 30 were hyperthyroidism patients and the other 20 were euthyroidism served as controls. Blood samples were collected from the studied subjects to determine thyroid profile [free triiodothyronine (FT3), free tetraiodothyronine (FT4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)], thyroid antibodies [anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO), anti-thyroglobulin (anti-Tg), and anti-thyroid stimulating hormone receptor (anti-TSHR)], and levels of vitamin D (vit D), calcium (Ca), and phosphorus (P) using different analysis techniques. When the effect of age on the studied parameters was investigated, the findings of hyperthyroidism revealed a significant (P<0.05) decrease in levels of FT4, anti-TPO, anti-TG, vit D, and Ca with increase of age. The findings of hypothyroidism revealed a significant (P<0.05) increase in levels of TSH, anti-TPO, and anti-TG with progress of age; while a significant (P<0.05) decrease was found in levels of anti-TSHR, vit D, and Ca with progress of age. The findings of euthyroidism revealed a significant (P<0.05) increase in levels of TSH and anti-TG with progress of age. Also, a high significant (P<0.01) increase was found in levels of anti-TPO and anti-TSHR with progress of age. While a significant (P<0.05) decrease was found in levels of vit D with progress of age. On the other hand, when the effect of BMI on the studied parameters was investigated, the results of hyperthyroidism revealed a high significant (P<0.01) decrease in level of TSH with increase of BMI value. Also, levels of anti-TSHR, Ca, and P decreased significantly (P<0.05) with increase of BMI value. In hypothyroidism, the results showed a high significant (P<0.01) increase in levels of TSH, anti-TPO, and anti-TG with increase of BMI value; while levels of anti-TSHR, Ca, and P decreased significantly (P<0.05) with increase of BMI value. Conclusion: Both of age and body mass index affect on levels of thyroid hormones and thyroid autoantibodied in patients with thyroid disorders (hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism).
Colorectal cancer CRC is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in males and the second in female, so it is a common and life-threatening disease serum of 48 males and 40 females suffering from CRC disease as group one (G1) without taking a chemotherapy dose, the same patients group tow (G2) after taking the first chemotherapy dose, while group three (G3) whose patients in (G1) and (G2) after second taking a chemotherapy dose. and group four (G4) consist of (30 males and 30 females) healthy Iraqi control. Results showed a significant increase in IL-17, IL-17RA and CEA in G1, while there was a significant decrease in vitamin D concentration in G1 than other groups, also there was positive (+ ve) significant correlation between IL-17 and CE

The prolactin hormone played role in the many autoimmune disorders. To determine the importance of high levels of prolactin in triggering rheumatoid arthritis, thirty patient's women with hyperprolactinemia aged (20-45) years old have been investigated and compared with twenty five healthy individuals. All the studied groups were carried out to measure the concentration of citrulinated peptide(CCP) by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay( ELISA), antikeratin antibodies (AKA)and antinuclear antibodies(ANA) by indirect fluorescent assay IFAT. There was a significant elevation of CCP concentration compared with control groups (P< 0.05). The percentage of antikeratin antibodies and antinuclear antibodies was (20%, 10%) respectively, and

The importance of vitamin D (vit D) as an immune modulator has recently been emphasized in several types of disorders. However, its significance in thyroid illnesses is not fully understood. The purpose of this study is to investigate how vitamin D affects the pathophysiology of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism in Iraqi women. One hundred Iraqi women with age ranged from 18 to 60 years participate in this research, 50 of them were hypothyroidism patients, 30 were hyperthyroidism patients and the other 20 were euthyroidism served as controls. The study was aimed to determine and show the ultrastructural changes of cells in the placenta of women suffering from diabetes mellitus disease. In this study, a total of 102 placentas were investigated by transmission electron microscopy, which includes 34 placentas with gestational diabetes, 34 placentas with pregestational diabetes, and 34 placentas with normal pregnancy as a control group. Placental vascular-syncytial membrane, trophoblastic basement membrane, villous stroma, and fetal vessel were investigated for their thickening basement membr
