Effect of Age and Body Mass Index on some Physiological Parameters in Women with Thyroid Disorders
...Show More Authors

Age and BMI may be used to diagnosis of thyroid autoimmune disease. One hundred Iraqi women with age ranged from 18 to 60 years participate in this research, 50 of them were hypothyroidism patients, 30 were hyperthyroidism patients and the other 20 were euthyroidism served as controls. Blood samples were collected from the studied subjects to determine thyroid profile [free triiodothyronine (FT3), free tetraiodothyronine (FT4) and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)], thyroid antibodies [anti-thyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO), anti-thyroglobulin (anti-Tg), and anti-thyroid stimulating hormone receptor (anti-TSHR)], and levels of vitamin D (vit D), calcium (Ca), and phosphorus (P) using different analysis techniques. When the effect of age on the studied parameters was investigated, the findings of hyperthyroidism revealed a significant (P<0.05) decrease in levels of FT4, anti-TPO, anti-TG, vit D, and Ca with increase of age. The findings of hypothyroidism revealed a significant (P<0.05) increase in levels of TSH, anti-TPO, and anti-TG with progress of age; while a significant (P<0.05) decrease was found in levels of anti-TSHR, vit D, and Ca with progress of age. The findings of euthyroidism revealed a significant (P<0.05) increase in levels of TSH and anti-TG with progress of age. Also, a high significant (P<0.01) increase was found in levels of anti-TPO and anti-TSHR with progress of age. While a significant (P<0.05) decrease was found in levels of vit D with progress of age. On the other hand, when the effect of BMI on the studied parameters was investigated, the results of hyperthyroidism revealed a high significant (P<0.01) decrease in level of TSH with increase of BMI value. Also, levels of anti-TSHR, Ca, and P decreased significantly (P<0.05) with increase of BMI value. In hypothyroidism, the results showed a high significant (P<0.01) increase in levels of TSH, anti-TPO, and anti-TG with increase of BMI value; while levels of anti-TSHR, Ca, and P decreased significantly (P<0.05) with increase of BMI value. Conclusion: Both of age and body mass index affect on levels of thyroid hormones and thyroid autoantibodied in patients with thyroid disorders (hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism).

Synthesis and Structural Study of Some Mo(II) Carbonyl Complexes with Triazole and Oxadiazole Derivatives
...Show More Authors

A new carbonyl complexes of triazole and oxadiazole were synthesized. These complexes were identified and their structural geometric were suggested by using FT-IR and UV-Vis spectra, conductivity measurements and other chemical and physical properties. The spectra data (FT-IR, UV, Vis.) with the substantial aid of group theoretical calculations gave so many evidences for the proposed geometries and the type of bonding of these compounds

Effect of an inclined magnetic field on peristaltic flow of Bingham plastic fluid in an inclined symmetric channel with slip conditions
...Show More Authors

This paper studies the influence of an inclined magnetic field on peristaltic transport of incompressible Bingham plastic fluid in an inclined symmetric channel with heat transfer and mass transfer. Slip conditions for heat transfer and concentration are employed. The formulation of the problem is presented through, the regular perturbation technique for small Bingham number Bn is used to find the final expression of stream
function, the flow rate, heat distribution and concentration distribution. The numerical solution of pressure rise per wave length is obtained through numerical integration because its analytical solution is impossible. Also the trapping phenomenon is analyzed. The effe

Prediction of Ryznar Index for the treated water from WTPs on Al-Karakh side of Baghdad City using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique
...Show More Authors

In this research an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique was applied for the prediction of Ryznar Index (RI) of the flowing water from WTPs in Al-Karakh side (left side) in Baghdad city for year 2013. Three models (ANN1, ANN2 and ANN3) have been developed and tested using data from Baghdad Mayoralty (Amanat Baghdad) including drinking water quality for the period 2004 to 2013. The results indicate that it is quite possible to use an artificial neural networks in predicting the stability index (RI) with a good degree of accuracy. Where ANN 2 model could be used to predict RI for the effluents from Al-Karakh, Al-Qadisiya and Al-Karama WTPs as the highest correlation coefficient were obtained 92.4, 82.9 and 79.1% respectively. Employment of the genetic algorithm in some methods of estimating survival function with application
...Show More Authors

Intended for getting good estimates with more accurate results, we must choose the appropriate method of estimation. Most of the equations in classical methods are linear equations and finding analytical solutions to such equations is very difficult. Some estimators are inefficient because of problems in solving these equations. In this paper, we will estimate the survival function of censored data by using one of the most important artificial intelligence algorithms that is called the genetic algorithm to get optimal estimates for parameters Weibull distribution with two parameters. This leads to optimal estimates of the survival function. The genetic algorithm is employed in the method of moment, the least squares method and the weighted
