The study includes preparation and characterisation of mixed azo-linked Schiff-base ligands and their complexes. The starting material was isolated from the mixing of 2-amino pyridine diazonium salt with 2-amino-phenole and 4-amino-3- hydroxy-1-naphthalene sulfonic acid respectively in 1:1 mole ratio in water. In this work, the formation of azo-linked Schiffbase ligands are reported. Ligands of the azo-linked Schiff-base was achieved by the reaction of starting material with 4- (dimethylamino) benzaldehyde) (HL1 and HL2). The complexes were prepared by mixing the azo-linked Schiff-base ligands with the metal salts; CoII, NiII and CdII in a 1:1:1 mole ratio. Ligands and complexes were characterised by analytical and spectroscopic analyses including; microanalysis, chloride content, thermal analysis, magnetic susceptibility for complexes, conductance, FTIR, UV-Vis and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Physico-chemical techniques indicated complexes demonstrated six coordinate structures in the solid and solution sate. Biological activity of the ligands and their metal complexes were screened for their antimicrobial activity against four bacterial species (Escherichia coli and Enterobacter (G-)), (Bacillus stubtilis and Staphylococcus aureus (G+)).
Many cases of gravitational bullets are reported in developed and non-developed countries. However, few papers highlighted these cases in the literature. In our study, we present two cases of gravitational bullets that have an unusual coincidence in the injury characteristics through their ages, and gender, the site of the inlet.
This study designed to evaluate the relationship between the Matrix metalloproteinase -9(MMP-9), soluble Vascular endothelial cadherin(VE-CAD)and Chlamydia pneumonia infection in cardiovascular diseases patients. All blood sample were subjected for molecular detection of C.pneumoniae by using conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR) depending on 16S rRNA while the level of serum MMP-9, VE-CAD measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Seventy patients who suffering from cardiovascular diseases (angina, myocardial infraction and atherosclerosis) aged between 33-86 years have been investigated and compared to twenty of apparently healthy individuals as control group. The problem of noise in the Baghdad airport has been examined in this study; and noise measurement and survey studies have been carried out at four high noise level (operation, training and development, quality system, and information and technology) zones located in this region.
