Development of Lyophilized Ebastine-Loaded Novasome Tablets: Comprehensive Physicochemical Characterization and In Vitro/In Vivo Release Evaluation
...Show More Authors
Introduction/Objective:

Ebastine, a second-generation H1 antihistamine, exhibits poor aqueous solubility and consequently low oral bioavailability, limiting its clinical therapeutic efficacy. Novasome is an advanced vesicular nanocarrier system that offers a promising approach to enhance the solubility and dissolution behavior of a poorly water solubility drug. Therefore, this study aimed to develop, optimize, and characterize ebastine-loaded novasomes and to compress them into tablets to enhance drug solubility, dissolution, and oral bioavailability.

Methods:

Ebastine-loaded novasomes were prepared and optimized, then converted into lyophilized tablets using a suitable cryoprotectant. The optimized formulation was characterized for Particle Size (PS), Polydispersity Index (PDI), Zeta Potential (ZP), and Entrapment Efficiency (EE). Solidstate properties were assessed via Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), while drug-excipient compatibility was evaluated using Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). In-vitro release studies were performed under stimulated physiological conditions, and in-vivo pharmacokinetic evaluation was conducted in Wistar rats.

Results:

The selected ebastine-loaded novasome exhibited a mean particle size of 189.9nm, a polydispersity index of 0.31, and an entrapment efficiency of 86.19%. In-vitro release exceeded 90% over 12 hours, significantly surpassing the dissolution profile of pure ebastine. DSC and XRD analyses confirmed amorphization of the drug within the Novasomal matrix, while FTIR revealed no evidence of drug-excipient compatibility. In-vivo studies demonstrated a 493.88% increase in relative oral bioavailability compared to free drug suspension (p < 0.05).

Discussion:

The enhanced dissolution and bioavailability are attributable to drug amorphization, high surface area to volume ratio of the nanovesicles, and protective entrapment of ebastine within the bilayer structure, which together improved gastrointestinal solubilization and oral bioavailability.

Conclusion:

The lyophilized Ebastine-loaded novasome tablet constitutes a stable, effective, and pharmacokinetically superior oral dosage form, offering significant potential for enhance the oral bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs.

The Dissolution Study For Sodium Selenite Tablets Using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer

The development of a meaningful dissolution procedure for drug products with limited water solubility has been a challenge to both the pharmaceutical industry and the agencies that regulate them. Natural surfactants aid in the dissolution and subsequent absorption of drugs with limited aqueous solubility. In vitro, various techniques have been used to achieve adequate dissolution of the sparingly water – soluble or water insoluble drug products such as the use of mechanical methods (i.e., increased agitation and the disintegration method) or hydro alcoholic medium or large volumes of medium. The necessity of assuring the quality of drugs , especially those with low aqueous solubility and in vivo absorption , has led to the development and

Influence of Polyphosphates on the Physicochemical Properties of Poly (Vinyl Chloride) after Irradiation with Ultraviolet Light
...Show More Authors

Three new polyphosphates were synthesized in good yields by reacting diethylenetriamine with the appropriate phosphate ester in ethanol under acidic conditions. The polyphosphate structures were determined using FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopies, and their elemental compositions were confirmed by EDX spectroscopy. Polyphosphates were added to poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) at low concentrations to fabricate thin films. The PVC films were irradiated with ultraviolet light for long periods, and the effect of polyphosphates as the photostabilizer was investigated by determining changes in the infrared spectra (intensity of specific functional group peaks), reduction in molecular weight, weight loss, and surface morphology. Minimal changes we

Synthesis, Characterization, and Evaluation of Biological Activity of Dihydroquinazoline-4-one and 1,3-Benzothiazine-4-one Derivatives
...Show More Authors

Six membered heterocyclic derivatives (dihydroquinazoline-4-one and 1,3-benzothiazine-4-one (6–15)) were synthesized by cyclization reaction of Schiff bases (1–5) with anthranilic acid and o-mercaptobenzoic acid in oily bath. Prepared compounds was characterized by FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectroscopy and elemental analysis to confirm structure of synthesized derivatives. Heterocyclic compounds are of interest for scientific research due to important antioxidant properties; Compounds 10, 12, and 15 appeared good results by scavenging free radicals. Investigation of microbial activity to synthesized compounds 6–15 showed that compounds 6, 10, and 11 demonstrate the highest inhibition zone.

A new series of schiff base and aminothiadiazole derivatives of N- substituted phthalimide (I-VI) were synthesized. In this work, the intermediate 4-(1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)benzaldehyde compound (I), was formed by reaction of 4-amino benzaldehyde with phthalic anhydride in glacial acetic acid(GAA). A series of Schiff bases (IV-VI) was prepared by the reaction of benzidine with compound (I) in ethanol and presence of GAA as a catalyst to form compound (IV) which react with compound (I) and p-nitro benzyldehyde to give compound (V) and (VI) respectively. A new phthalimide thiosemi-carbazone derivative (ll) was prepared by reaction of compound (l) with thiosemi-carbazide HCl in the presence of equimolar amount of sodium acetate. Fina

Gender mainstreaming is a goal for building a society characterized by justice and equality. Gender mainstreaming requires a clear understanding of the concept. Therefore, the research focuses on the concept of gender and how it was addressed in the literature through which the concepts related to gender were extracted which is represented by the role and social status through which the relationship of gender can be measured. In order to find out the basis for the different status and roles of both sexes in societies, the interpreted theories of gender were addressed, through which the most important factors affecting gender relations, such as biological, social and economic factors, as well as political systems, were discussed. Higher education is one of the foundational pillars that contributes to the development of societies and the achievement of social and economic progress. With the accelerating advancements in technological, environmental, and social fields, universities and educational institutions worldwide are facing significant challenges requiring them to adapt to these changes and develop new educational strategies. In this context, directing higher education towards achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) has become imperative, as these goals are now an integral part of modern societies' vision, particularly in light of global challenges such as climate change, population growth, and unemployment. By the year 2050, educational institutions
