Strength Training and its Effect in Some Biochemical Variables in the High Jumping of Advanced Players
...Show More Authors

The study of biomechanical indicators in the arc of the run and the upgrading stage is one of the important variables that affect the nature of the upgrading and thus affect the result of the race due to the importance of these stages and the consequent variables during the last steps. That’s why, the jump-trainings based on assistant means or body weight positively affect the step-time for each of the three steps in the acceleration arc. As well as, it focuses on the momentary strength of each step at this stage. It also significantly affects the speed of motor performance to suit the activity in which the runner needs to perform perfect steps with high flow in order to convert the horizontal speed to a vertical one. This is achieved through producing high instantaneous power and in a short time to achieve a perfect elevation. Those trainings must be built according to real indicators based on scientific results to know the nature of these time-characteristics and the range of its impact on the variables of the last three steps and upgrading, because these variables depend on performance and accuracy and need to stability in performance during attempts. Therefore, some biomechanical variables are found for the three steps and the stage of upgrading through the use of video graphing, kinetic analysis, and preparing special trainings to develop these variables in order to solve this problem that faces the players of the country right now. The research was applied on a group of high-jump players from the country for the (6) advanced-level players and the results of the preceding and following tests were compared. The researchers concluded that the exercises which were performed by using the means and equipment according to the performance and which were used within the strength-exercises are effective in developing the pushing-time at the moments of contact for the last three steps and the stage of upgrading. In the same way, they are effective in the right-time strength of the performance-nature which helped in the frugality of time, the force spent correctly, and the interconnection of the parts of the correct performance of these variables in the last three steps. This is reflected on the stage of upgrading and led to its development.

Effect of Microwave Treatment in Graphite Anode for Microbial Fuel Cell and Its Application in Biosensor
...Show More Authors

The electrode in the microbial fuel cell has a significant effect on cell performance. The treatment of the electrode is a crucial step to make the electrode surface more habitable for bacteria growth, thus, increases the power production as well as waste treatment. In the current study, two graphite electrodes were treated by a microwave. The first electrode was treated with 100W microwave energy, while the second one was treated with 600W microwave energy. There is a significant enhancement in the surface of the graphite anode after the pretreatment process. The results show an increase in the power density from 10 mW/m2 to 15 mW/m2 with 100w treatment and to 13.47 mW/m2 with 600w treatment. An organic

The Effect of Circuit Training Exercises on Certain Physical Fitness Elements of Iraq Stars League Referees
...Show More Authors

The study aims to study the effect of some circuit training exercises on the physical fitness of the referees in the Iraqi Stars League. In the study the experimental design used pre-test and post-test to measure improvement of the participants in speed, agility, and overall endurance. There were 24 referees that performed structured circuit training for 8 weeks. Gradually, the training sessions were tailored to maintain an ongoing improvement of the different components of physical fitness required for high-quality referees. The findings showed marked improvements in the physical capacity of referees, with times taken for the sprint and the agility tests falling significantly. Statistical analysis verified that improvements were

Effect of magnetic water on strength properties of concrete
...Show More Authors
Abstract<p>The research’s main goal is to investigate the effects of using magnetic water in concrete mixes with regard to various mechanical properties such as compressive, flexural, and splitting tensile strength. The concrete mix investigated was designed to attain a specified cylinder compressive strength (30 MPa), with mix proportions of 1:1.8:2.68 cement to sand to crushed aggregate. The cement content was about 380 kg/m3, with a w/c ratio equal to 0.54, sand content of about 685 kg/m3, and gravel content of about 1,020 kg/m3. Magnetic water was prepared via passing ordinary water throughout a magnetic field with a magnetic intensity of 9,000 Gauss. The strength test</p> ... Show More

Ceramic to metal joining technique, which was used in this investigation includes the use of active filler alloy as a sandwich between the alumina and kovar alloy for brazing. High purity powdered metals of silver, copper, and additives of titanium were used to prepare the active filler alloy, through compacting the mixed powders and alloying in a furnace with argon atmosphere at the temperature of 800oC for 10 minutes. To use it as an active filler metal, it has been modified to a proper thickness. Two groups of alumina were prepared with different sintering temperatures (1450oC and 1650oC) and each group was tested under atmospheric pressure, vacuum furnace pressure of 2*10-4 torr and vacuum furnace pressure of 2*10-6 torr. Background: The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of surface treatments of zirconia (grinding and sandblast with 50μm, 100 μm) on shear bond strength between zirconia core and veneering ceramic. Material and methods: Twenty-eight presintered Y-TZP ceramic specimens (IPS e.max ZirCAD, Ivoclar vivadent) were fabricated and sintered according to manufacturer’s instructions. The core specimens were divided randomly in to 4 groups, group 1: no surface treatment, group2: zirconia specimens were ground with silicon carbide paper up to1200 grit under water cooling, group3: zirconia specimens were ground and sandblast with 100 μm alumina, group 4: zirconia specimens were ground and sandblast with 50 μm alumina.
