The effect of Foot and Mouth disease on reproductive performance of Holstein bulls in Artificial Insemination Center of Iraq: AL-Badry K I * , Ibrahim F F ** and Rajab BA **
...Show More Authors

This study was carried out in Artificial Insemination Center of Iraq to revealed FMD disease effect on some seminal attributer parameters of 14 imported Holstein bulls divided to three groups according to different reproductive efficiency (four High, five medium and five weak). Results showed that FMD disease had significant (P < 0.05) adverse effect on most seminal attributer parameters, mass, individual motility and sperm concentration / ml during post disease in first of two, four, all months of high, medium and weak semen quality bulls respectively .but semen volume didn’t influenced significantly with this disease. So semen collection should be suspended until resume normal fertility of sperm, after two, four month of high and

The Effectiveness of using the Biofilter made from Bidara (Sidr) to reduce the negative effects of Mice Cigarette Smoke
...Show More Authors

This study aims to determine the effect of exposure to cigarette smoke with a biofilter of bidara leaf powder on the histology of the liver, lungs and blood viscosity of mice. This test was carried out for 28 days by giving cigarette smoke with a biofilter of bidara leaf powder and observing the histology of the liver, lungs and blood viscosity. The results showed that exposure to cigarette smoke with a biofilter of bidara leaf powder was very effective in reducing damage to the liver and lungs of mice, and also very effective in reducing blood viscosity as in normal mice blood viscosity. The use of Bidara leaf powder biofilter can affect the histology of the liver, lungs and blood viscosity in mice. Bidara leaf powder biofi

Effect the Thickness on the Electrical Properties and (I-V) Character of the (CdTe) Thin Films and Find the Efficiency of Solar Cell CdTe/CdS
...Show More Authors

Thin films of CdTe were prepared with thickness (500, 1000) nm on the glass substrate by vacuum evaporation technique at room temperature then treated different annealing temperatures (373,473,and 573)K for one hour. Results of the Hall Effect and the electrical conductivity of (I-V) characteristics were measured in darkness and light.at different annealing temperature results show that the thin films have ability to manufacture solar cells, and found that the efficient equal to (2.18%) for structure solar cell (Algrid / CdS / CdTe /glass/ Al) and the efficient equal to (1.12%) for structure solar cell (Algrid / CdS / CdTe /Si/ Al) with thick ness of (1000) nm with CdTe thin films at RT.

Clinical and Histopathological Study on Dog's Tumors in Iraq
...Show More Authors

The study was conducted on twenty dogs from variety breeds to estimate the
incidence of tumor mass and determine the risk factors of survey to cases of a year
in veterinary hospital in Baghdad. The most common clinical signs were, ulceration,
bleeding into lesions in addition to drowsiness, anorexia, fever and the others were
depended tumor's location in dog's body like lameness, lacrimation and bloody
constipation etc.
The results showed 70% of the infected dogs were working with military forces
and 30% of them were pet dogs and we found that the highest percentage of tumor
accrued in dogs aged more than 10 years and the females recorded 60% of infection.
Terrier breed had the highest percentage of infection (

Production of Protease Enzyme from Wheat Straw
...Show More Authors

Protease enzyme production was studied and optimized as  a first step to collect information about solid state fermenter) to produce protease enzyme. A local isolated Aspergillus niger was used for this study with constant spores feeding in every experiment at (105/g). Experiments carried out in conical flasks with (250 ml) containing (10 g) of wheat straw as a substrate with different conditions included temperature, pH, hydration ratio, and fermentation time, the results comprised by measuring protease activity (u). The results showed that the best activity can be obtained at (T = 32°C, t= 100 hrs, pH= 2.5 and hydration ratio is 1:3). On the other hand the results is courage to p

Pediatric Glomerular Diseases (Review of histopathological subtypes).

Background: Glomerular injury can be caused by immunologic, infectious, toxic, metabolic and heamodynamic factors. The glomerular response to injury determines the pathology, which can be observed in renal biopsy. The purpose of this study was to analyze different histopathological subtypes of primary and secondary glomerular diseases in children.
Patients and methods: A retrospective study was done on 100 renal biopsy cases in children welfare teaching hospital between December 2003 and December 2007. Ultrasonically guided
biopsies were taken and only light microscopy was used to examine the specimens.
Results: The study group included 100 cases with renal diseases, 83 (83%) cases of which having primar

Expression Of Xylose Reductase Enzyme From Spathaspora passalidarum In Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
...Show More Authors

Baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) has been genetically engineered to
ferment the pentose sugar xylose present in lignocellulosic biomass. One of the
reactions controlling the rate of xylose utilization is catalyzed by xylose reductase
(XR).The current study describes xylose reductase from Spathasporapassalidarum
with NADH preference. According to JGI site the gene coding for this enzyme
contains 954 nucleotides and it consists of 317 amino acids. The restriction sites for
the enzymes SacII and NotI located on the 5P
´
Ptermini for both the forward and
reverse specific primers were designed using Lasergen 9.0 program. The genomic
DNA was isolated and purified from S .passalidarum. Polymerase chain r

This work deals with the description of histopathological effects of the nematode Hartertia
gallinarurn Theiler. 1919 on the digestive system of the seesee partridge collected from Qa’ra
area in the western desert district of Iraq. along with some notes on intensity fluctuation of the
parasite according to the seasons. It is found that the major effects of the nematode are
necrosis and fibrosis of gizzard: granulomatous reaction. necrosis and mononuclear
infiltration of proventriculus: damage of mucosal lining of intestine and lymphocytic
infiltration of liver.
