Anti-Militarism in Joseph Heller's Catch-22

يحاول البحث دراسة رواية الكاتب الاميركي جوزيف هيلر التي تحمل عنوان "كاتش 22" (1961). وفي تفحص دقيق لمحتويات الرواية نجد ان تركيزها الرئيس هو المشاعر المناهضة للروح العسكرية. ويقدم البحث شخصيات مختلفة في الرواية ويحاول ان يعكس من خلالها المشاعر المناهضة للروح العسكرية. وان البحث ناقش ايضاً تأثيرات التصرفات الخاصة والاحداث الرئيسة التي حدثت في القوة الجوية الاميركية. وتدور القصة بشكل رئيس حول بعض رجال القوة الجوية الذين كانوا مقاتلين في الحرب العالمية الثانية. وتسلط الاحداث التي يناقشها البحث الضوء على المشاعر التي تحملها المفاهيم المناهضة للروح العسكرية تجاه قضايا الحرب. ان حبكة الرواية متسلسلة وان وصف الاحداث جاء بشكل هزلي كوميدي. وتمثل الشخصيات في الرواية الخصائص المتنوعة التي يمكن ان تستعمل لتطوير حبكة ما مناهضة ايضاً للروح العسكرية. ويستند البحث في مجمله على مفاهيم القوات المسلحة التي تستلزم وتبرر ظهور المشاعر المناهضة للروح العسكرية وتطويرها. وان افكر الاشتراكي يعد مفهوماً بارزاً للمشاعر المناهضة للروح العسكرية في الوقت الذي تبدو فيه الروح العسكرية تحاول ان تتكيف مع الرأسمالية. ومن وجهة نظر مناهضة للروح العسكرية، فان الرأسمالية يمكن تشخصيها على انها نوع من البيروقراطية التي تحبط من عزيمة الجنود وتعزز الروح الفردية قي داخل القوات المسلحة. وتتعامل رواية "كاتش 22" مع جميع العوامل العسكرية والعوامل المناهضة للعسكرية والاحداث التي ادت الى المفاهيم نفسها.

Synthesis and Identification of Some Imino Chalcone Derivatives with Evaluating their Anti-oxidant Activity

This work involves the preparation of high yield iminochalcon compounds (B1-B15)  through two parts. The first part involves the preparation of 2,4-dihydroxy Chalcone (A1-A15) by the condensation of 2,4-dihydroxy acetophenone  with  aryl aldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide (40%) as a catalyst. Conjugation of Steroidal and Non – Steroidal Anti- Inflammatory Drugs as Possible Mutual Prodrug

Prednisolone (SAID) was conjugated with ibuprofen (NSAID) through an amino acid (glycine) as a spacer arm to synthesize the following compound:

Prednisolone – glycine – ibuprofen.

    The method employed consists of converting the carboxylic acid function of (R,S) – ibuprofen – glycine to the highly reactive acid chloride and subsequent reaction with the C21 hydroxyl group of prednisolone. This reactive intermediate was found to react as well with the C17 tertiary hydroxyl group of the steroid to form three compounds and eight diastereomers. Electro polymerization for (N-Terminal tetrahydrophthalamic acid) for Anti-corrosion and Biological Activity Applications

The present work reports the electrochemical synthesis of poly N Terminal tetrahydrophthalamic acid on stainless steel 316 (S.S), which acts as a working electrode, using an electrochemical polymerization technique. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) characterized the formed polymer film. Anti-Breast Cancer Activity of Some Synthesized Pyrazole Derivatives Bearing Imidazo[1,2a]pyridine Moiety

     A novel series of pyrazole derivatives containing imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine D1-D8 moiety has been synthesized. The reaction of 2-aminopyridine with 4-phenylphenacyl bromide and 4-bromophenacyl bromide gave the products A and A1, respectively. In-vitro antibacterial, cytotoxicity, and anti-prostate cancer effects of gold nanoparticles synthesized using extract of desert truffles (Tirmania nivea)

Herein, a cost-effective bio approach using extract derived from desert truffles (Tirmania nivea) is utilized to synthesize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). AuNPs were thoroughly investigated using UV–vis, XRD, SEM, and TEM analyses. It was shown that nanoparticles had an fcc structure with a smooth spherical surface, an average diameter of 9.44 ± 0.26 nm, and an SPR band observed at 548 nm. Investigations were conducted on AuNPs' antibacterial and anti-cancer properties of prostate cancer cells. The findings suggest that AuNPs showed better antibacterial effects against S. aureus compared to E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and K. pneumoniae. Effect of Fiber (Glass, Poly Propylene) on Hardness, Water Absorption And Anti-Bacterial Activity of Coating Acrylic Polymer

Coating materials have an extraordinarily high use, for industrial or technical applications. This study compares the effect of short glass and polypropylene fibers on the hardness, water absorption and anti-bacterial activity of acrylic composites against Gram positive (Streptococcus sp.) and Gram negative bacteria (E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella sp.).To prepare acrylic polymer and acryliccomposites (glass fibers and polypropylene fiber) the weight fraction (20 %,) (v0= lama acrylic, v1= lama acrylic/ glass fiber, and v2= lama acrylic /poly propylene fiber), of chopped glass fibers and polypropylene were added to acrylic , the resultant solution was stirred by hand for 5 minutes, using the Hand-lay-up technique.
