Comparison Study of Different Feature Selection Techniques for the Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease
...Show More Authors

Objective : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) continues to be a major challenge because handling high-dimensional data is time-consuming and expensive due to its complexity. A large feature space often increases computational costs and reduces model interpretability. This study addresses this problem by evaluating and comparing multiple feature selection techniques to identify the most informative biomarkers for AD diagnosis.

Methods : Our study used data from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) to implement and test three feature selection approaches, visualization-based, filter-based, and wrapper-based, within a Naive Bayes (NB) classification framework.

Results : Based on the results of the analysis, the wrapper method achieved 96.77% classification accuracy, outperforming both visualization and filter methods with 86.19 and 91.87%, respectively. Interestingly, even when over 92.5% of the original features were removed the classifier still performed well, indicating that only a small set of features is necessary to ensure reliable diagnosis.

Discussion : This study illustrates that strategically selecting features improves diagnostic accuracy while reducing computational burden, providing a more efficient framework for machine learning applications in Alzheimer's disease research.

Postprandial Hyperglycemia as a Significant Risk Factor for Coronary Heart Disease
...Show More Authors

Background: The highest concentrations of
blood glucose during the day are usually found
postprandialy. Postprandial hyperglycemia (PPH)
is likely to promote or aggravate fasting
hyperglycemia. Evidence in recent years suggests
that PPH may play an important role in functional
& structural disturbances in different body organs
particularly the cardiovascular system.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of (PPH) as a
risk factor for coronary Heart disease in Type 2
diabetic patients.
Methods: Sixty-three type2 diabetic patients
were included in this study. All have controlled
fasting blood glucose, with HbA1c correlation.
They were all followed for five months period
(from May to October 2008)

STUDY THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF STRESS ON SOME BLOOD CONSTITUENTS AND PLASMA BIOCHAMICALS IN MALE RATS
...Show More Authors

The objective of this work was to determine and compare the physiological changes in some: blood components (packed cell volume and hemoglobin) and plasma biochemical parameters (glucose, total protein, albumin, cholesterol and triglycerides) under 3 day of different types of stress: water deprivation, starvation, overcrowding and handling stress. Twenty five male Wister rats weighted 100-120 gm, were divided randomly into five groups: control, water deprivation, starvation, overcrowding and handling stress. On the third day of stress the animals anesthetized for blood collection; the results of blood component revealed a significant increase in PCV and a significant decrease in Hb of water deprivation group and starva

Hemorrhagic Fever history, Diagnosis and Treatment: review article
...Show More Authors

hemorrhagic fever (VHF), one of which is Filoviridae. The Filoviridae family includes the Ebola virus , is responsible for the current VHF outbreak in West Africa. Viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) occur in various regions around the world, yet traditional diagnostic testing for these diseases has typically been conducted in major reference laboratories located in Europe and the United States. In this review, we explore the current understanding of the mechanisms driving the pathogenesis of viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) and examine the progress in developing preventive and therapeutic strategies for these infections.

COVID-19 Diagnosis System using SimpNet Deep Model
...Show More Authors

After the outbreak of COVID-19, immediately it converted from epidemic to pandemic. Radiologic images of CT and X-ray have been widely used to detect COVID-19 disease through observing infrahilar opacity in the lungs. Deep learning has gained popularity in diagnosing many health diseases including COVID-19 and its rapid spreading necessitates the adoption of deep learning in identifying COVID-19 cases. In this study, a deep learning model, based on some principles has been proposed for automatic detection of COVID-19 from X-ray images. The SimpNet architecture has been adopted in our study and trained with X-ray images. The model was evaluated on both binary (COVID-19 and No-findings) classification and multi-class (COVID-19, No-findings

Background. Echinococcosis/ hydatitdosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by the infestation of the larval form of the tapeworm of the genus Echinococcus .The Liver, lungs, and kidneys are the common areas of infestation. Objectives: To describe hydatid disease in hospitalized patients from a clinico-epidemiological perspectives.Methods:: A retrospective study was conducted over a period of 6 months extending from 15th of November 2011 to the 15th of May 2012 by reviewing records of 125 patients who were hospitalized at Baghdad Teaching Hospital during 2011and received medical and surgical treatment for hydatid cyst disease. The impact of tax techniques on the quality of services provided to income taxpayers: An exploratory study in a sample of the branches of the General Tax Authority / Baghdad Governorate
...Show More Authors

The research aims to demonstrate the impact of tax techniques on the quality of services provided to income taxpayers by studying the correlational and influencing relationships between the exploited variable (tax techniques) and the dependent variable (the quality of services provided to income taxpayers), and in line with the research objectives, the main hypothesis of the research was formulated (there is a relationship Significance between tax techniques and the quality of services provided to income taxpayers) a number of sub-hypotheses emerged from this hypothesis that were stated in the research methodology, and a number of conclusions were reached, the most important of which were (through the use of the correlation coeff
