Effect of Replacing Vegetable Oil with Anhydrous Milk Fat on the Quality Properties of Laboratory-Produced Nutella
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to prepare a healthy Nutella rich in specific fatty acids (e.g., oleic, palmitic, and stearic acids) and fat-soluble vitamins (A, E, K, and D) by replacing sunflower oil with anhydrous milk fat (ghee) at substitution levels of 10%, 20%, and 30%. The effect of this substitution on the physicochemical and sensory properties of the laboratoryproduced Nutella was investigated. The chemical composition analysis revealed significant differences (p < 0.05) in fatty acid profiles and vitamin content among the treatments, while some other compositional parameters showed no significant differences. The percentages of oleic, palmitic, stearic, and linolenic fatty acids increased significantly with increasing substitution levels of anhydrous milk fat, whereas the percentages of linoleic and arachidonic acids decreased significantly. The results also indicated a significant increase in the concentrations of fatsoluble vitamins (A, E, K, and D) as the substitution level increased. Viscosity analysis showed a statistically significant increase in theviscosity of the Nutella samples with increasing substitution levels of anhydrous milk fat. Sensory evaluation revealed that the Nutella treatments containing anhydrous milk fat (ghee) scored higher than the control treatment (100% sunflower oil) in all sensory properties. Among the substitution levels, the 20% anhydrous milk fat treatment showed the highest consumer acceptance.

Effect of sustainable palm fiber on high strength concrete properties
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Date palm fiber is one of the common wastes available in the M. E. countries essentially Iraq. The aim of search to investigate the performance and effects of fiber date palm on the mechanical properties of high strength concrete, this fiber was used in three ratio 2, 4 and 6 % by vol. of concrete at ages of (7, 28, 90) days. Results demonstrated improvement in the compressive strength increased 19.2 %, 23.6%, 24.9 % for 2%, 4%, 6% of fiber respectively at age 28 days. Flexural strength increases 47.6%, 66.2%, 93.8% form (2,4,6) % of fiber respectively at age 28 days. Density increase about 0.41%, 0, 61 % 0.69 % for (2,4,6) % of fiber respectively at age 28. The Effect of Different Types of Aggregate and Additives on the Properties of Self-Compacting Lightweight Concrete
...Show More Authors

The major aim of this research is study the effect of the type of lightweight aggregate (Porcelinite and Thermostone), type and ratio of the pozzolanic material(SF and HRM) and the use of different ratios of w/cm ratio(0.32 and 0.35) on the properties of SCLWC in the fresh and hardened state. SF and HRM are used in three percentage 5%,10%, and 15% as a partial replacement by weight of
cement for all types of SCLWC. The requirements of self-compatibility for SCC are fulfilled by using the high performance superplasticizer (G51) at 1.2liter per 100 kg of cement. The values of air dry density and compressive strength at age of 28 days within the limits of structural lightweight concrete. The air dry density and compressive strength at a

The use of image analysis to study the effect of moisture content on the physical properties of grains
...Show More Authors
Abstract
Designing machines and equipment for post-harvest operations of agricultural products requires information about their physical properties. The aim of the work was to evaluate the possibility of introducing a new approach to predict the moisture content in bean and corn seeds based on measuring their dimensions using image analysis using artificial neural networks (ANN). Experimental tests were carried out at three levels of wet basis moisture content of seeds: 9, 13 and 17%. The analysis of the results showed a direct relationship between the wet basis moisture content and the main dimensions of the seeds. Based on the statistical analysis of the seed material, it was shown that the characteristics
... Show More

An Evaluation of Olive Oil as a Separating Medium and Its Effect on Some Mechanical Properties of Processed Acrylic Resin Denture Base (A Comparative Study). Part Two
...Show More Authors

Background: During acrylic resin processing, the mold must be separated from the surface of the gypsum to prevent liquid resin from penetrating into the gypsum, and water from the gypsum seeping into the acrylic resin. For many years, tin foil was the most acceptable separating medium, and because it's difficult to apply, a tin-foil substitute is used. In this study, olive oil is used as an alternative to tin foil separating medium for first time, and evaluating its effect as a separating medium on some mechanical properties such as (indentation hardness and transverse strength) of acrylic resins denture base comparing it with those processed using tin-foil and tin foil substitute such as (cold mold seal) separating medium. Effect of temperature and SiO2 nanoparticle size on wettability alteration of oil-wet calcite
...Show More Authors

Nanofluid treatment of oil reservoirs is being developed to enhance oil recovery and increase residual trapping capacities of CO2 at the reservoir scale. Recent studies have demonstrated good potential for silica nanoparticles for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) at ambient conditions. Nanofluid composition and exposure time have shown significant effects on the efficiency of EOR. However, there is a serious lack of information regarding the influence of temperature on nanofluid performance; thus the effects of temperature, exposure time and particle size on wettability alteration of oil-wet calcite surface were comprehensively investigated; moreover, the stability of the nanofluids was examined. We found that nanofluid treatment is more efficie

Evaluation of the Possible Immuno-Protective Effect of Nigella Sativa Seed Oil on Cyclophosphamide- Induced Myelosuppression in Mice
...Show More Authors

Myelosuppression is one of the serious adverse effects of cancer chemotherapy that lead to life threatening febrile neutropenia and considered a limiting factor for successful therapy. Cyclophosphamide a widely used anticancer drugs, induces severe bone marrow suppression by damaging hematopoietic stem cells. As cancer incidence expands globally, the demand for an effective myeloprotective therapy during cancer treatment is also increasing.Nigella sativa seed oil, a well-known plant extract that widely used for various health conditions. This study aims to evaluate the myeloprotective activity of Nigella sativa seed oil in cyclophosphamide-induced myelosuppression mice model. Effect of thickness on structural properties of BixSb2-xTe3 thin films
...Show More Authors

BixSb2-xTe3 alloys with different ratios of Bi (x=0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 2) have been prepared, Thin films of these alloys were prepared using thermal evaporation method under vacuum of 10-5 Torr on glass substrates at room temperature with different deposition rate (0.16, 0.5, 0.83) nm/sec for thickness (100, 300, 500) respectively. The X–ray diffraction measurements for BixSb2-xTe3 bulk and thin films indicate the polycrystalline structure with a strong intensity of peak of plane (015) preferred orientation with additional peaks, (0015) and (1010 ) reflections planes, which is meaning that all films present a very good texture along the (015) plane axis at different intensities for each thin film for different thickness.
