The study area of Baghdad region and nearby areas lies within the central part of the Mesopotamia plain. It covers about 5700 Km2. The concentration of elements were analyzed of twelve cultivation medium (Peat moss, Perlite and Hermon) selected from Iraqi markets using X-ray fluorescence techniques. The analytical results show that the cultivation medium contained high concentration of (Na, Al, Si, S, K, Ca, Fe) and low concentration of (Mg, P, Cl, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn). The samples also contained trace concentration of (Ge, As, Se, Br, Sr, Y, Mo, Cd, I, Hg, Pb, U). The results were compared using atomic absorption spectrophotometric technique for measuring the concentration of (K, Ca, Cu, Mn, Zn, Pb).

We studied 263 hypertensive patients and 166 healthy subjects as a control group. By using conventional Doppler echocardiography, the following parameters were measured—Left ventricular end diastolic diameter, left ventricular end systolic diameter, transmitral early velocity, isovolumic relaxation time, and isovolumic contraction time. Nicotiana tobaccum L (Solanacea) extracts are used as a mollusciede to the snail Bulinus truncatus the intermediate host of urinary Schistosomiasis. LC50 of the extracts to the snail with 24 hour was 3.27 ml/l? 48 hour was 3.33 ml/l? 72 hour was 2.67 ml/l and 96 hour was 2.28ml/l. This study showed the ability to use the leaf extracts in the control of this type of snail.

 Prepared zeolite type A was used for theremoval of cesium ions from aqueous solution. The experimental data were analyzed by Langmuir, Freundlich isotherms. Various parameters, such as contact time, zeolite weight, pH, and initial concentration, were studied. The results indicated that the highest removal efficiency was95.53% at (2h time, 0.04 g weight, and pH=6.8). The results also showed that the Freundlic model fits well with the experimental results and is better than the Langmuir model.
