Efficacy of Some Insect Growth Regulators (IGR) Against Jasmine White Fly Alearoclava Jasimini ( Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) on Citrus Tree

    Liposomal amphotericin B (Amph B) has been used effectively to treat leishmaniosis, in spite of its high toxicity appeared in some patients. In our study, Amph B was administered in Leishmania donovani that infected BALB/c male mice using different concentrations to evaluate its efficacy challenge against infection as well as its effect in modulating immunity of the host. We observed that low doses with short duration of Amph B as a therapy regime significantly enhanced the induction of Th1 cytokine (INF-γ), but suppressed Th2 cytokine (IL-10) production.     Abstract<p>This investigation was carried out to estimate the antiparasitic potential of chitosan nanoparticles loaded with paromomycin against <italic>Entamoeba histolytica</italic> infected. After rats inoculated orally in a dose 10<sup>3</sup> viable cysts for acute infection; then treated with paromomycin, chitosan nanoparticles as a single or combined therapy given for seven days. Stool examination revealed a significant decrease in the number of <italic>Entamoeba histolytica</italic> cysts in all treated infected rats compared with infected non-treated.     Evaluation of Phyllanthus emblica extract as antibacterial and antibiofilm against biofilm formation bacteria.

    A study was conducted to evaluate the antibacterial effect of Phyllanthus emblica extract (ethanol:methanol, 1:1) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli at different concentrations, i.e. 0.625, 1.25, 2.50, 5.0, 10.0 and 20.0 mg/ml. The antibacterial activity was determined by the agar well diffusion method to investigate the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC). The alcoholic extract of Phyllanthus emblica had the highest antibacterial activity at 20 mg/ml and 5 mg/ml except for Pseudomonas aeruginosa where the value of inhibition was between 20 and 10 mg/ml.
