Iraqi calcium bentonite was activated via acidification to study its structural and electrical properties. The elemental analysis of treated bentonite was determined by using X-ray fluorescence while the unit crystal structure was studied through X-ray diffraction showing disappearance of some fundamental reflections due to the treatment processes. The surface morphology, on the other hand, was studied thoroughly by Scanning Electron microscopy SEM and Atomic Force Microscope AFM showing some fragments of montmorillonite sheets. The article presents the synthesis and liquid crystalline properties of some of new bent and linear core compounds containing a 1,3,4-oxadiazole, piperazine and thiazolidin-4-one rings as a central core. The new synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR, ¹HNMR and mass spectroscopy). The liquid crystalline properties were studied by polarized optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. All Schiff bases compounds with 1,3,4-oxadiazole and piprzaine ring in central core presented liquid crystalline properties. The liquid crystallinity of compounds containing 1,3,4-oxadiazole and thiazolidin-4-one rings as a central core were found depending on the type of terminal substituents.

This work presents a five-period chaotic system called the Duffing system, in which the effect of changing the initial conditions and system parameters d, g and w, on the behavior of the chaotic system, is studied. This work provides a complete analysis of system properties such as time series, attractors, and Fast Fourier Transformation Spectrum (FFT). This paper investigated the fatigue life behavior of two composite materials subjected to different times of shot peening (2, 4 and 6 min).The first material prepared from unsaturated polyester with E-glass reinforcement by 33% volume fraction. While, the second one was prepared from unsaturated polyester with aluminum powder by2.5% volume fraction.
