This study describes the preparation of new series of tetra-dentate N2O2 dinuclear complexes (Cr3+, Co2+, Cu2+) of the Schiff base derived from condensation of 1-Hydroxy-naphthalene-2-carbaldehyde with 2-amino-5-(2-hydroxy-phenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole. The structures of the ligands were identified using IR, UV-Vis , mass, elemental analysis and 1H-NMR techniques. All prepared complexes have been characterized by conductance measurement, magnetic susceptibility, electronic spectra, infrared spectrum, theromgravimatric analysis (TGA) and metal analysis by atomic absorption. From stoichiometry of metal to ligand and all measurements show a octahedral geometry proposed for all

Show MoreThe present study was designed to synthesize a number of new Ceftriaxone derivatives by its involvement with a series of different amines, through the chemical derivatization of its 2-aminothiazolyl- group into an amide with chloroacetyl chloride, which on further conjugation with these selected amines will produce compounds with pharmacological effects that may extend the antimicrobial activity of the parent compound depending on the nature of these moieties.
Ceftriaxone was first equipped with a spacer arm (linker) by the action of chloroacetyl chloride in aqueous medium and then further reacted with seven different aliphatic and aromatic amines which resulted in the production of the aimed final target products. The syntheses

Reaction of carbon disulfide and methyl iodide with [I] gavedithiomethyl [IV] which on treatment with o-phenylenediamine gave the condensed N-Imidazolythiadiazolylamine [V], However, reaction of [I] with phenylisocyanate and phenylisothiocyanate afforded the carbamideand carbothiamide derivatives [VI. A series of new 2-quinolone derivatives linked to benzene sulphonyl moieties were performed by many steps: the first step involved preparation of different coumarins (A1,A2) by condensation of different substituted phenols with ethyl acetoacetate. The compound A1 was treated with nitric acid to afford two isomers of nitrocoumarin derivatives (A3) and (A4). The prepared compounds (A2, A3) were treated with hydrazine hydrate to synthesize different 2-quinolone compounds (A5,A6) while the coumarin treated with different amines gave compounds (A7,A8). Then the synthesized 2-quinolone compounds (A5-A8) treated with benzene sulphonyl chloride to afford new sulfonamide derivatives (A9-A12). The synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H

Show MoreThis work is based on the synthesis of Cobalt(II) and Cadmium(II) mixed-ligands compounds obtained from the reaction of N'-(4-methylsulfanyl-benzoyl)-hydrazine carbodithioic acid methyl ester as a ligand and using ethylendiamine (en), 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as a co-ligand. The synthesis of ligand (HL) was based on multi-steps synthetic procedure. The reaction of 4-methylsulfanyl-benzoyl chloride with hydrazine gave 4-methylsulfanyl-benzoic acid hydrazide. This compound was reacted with carbon disulfide and potassium hydroxide in methanol to yield N'-(4-methylsulfanylbenzoyl)-hydrazine potassium thiocarbamate, which upon reaction with methyl iodide resulted in the formation of the ligand. A range of physico-chem

Show MoreThis study compared the effects of citric acid (CA) derived from microbial fermentation using Aspergillus niger (400 mg kg-1) and natural extraction from Citrus limon (400 mg kg1) in albino mice. Parameters assessed included cytogenetic damage via the micronucleus (MN) assay, immunological response through immunoglobulin (IgA, IgG, IgM) titers, and hepatoprotective activity based on liver enzyme levels (AST, ALT, ALP) and histopathological inves tigation. Mice were divided into six groups (n=10/group) as follows: (1) negative control, (2) carbon tetrachloride (CCl₄ 0.02%), (3) lemon CA, (4) A. niger, (5) CCl₄ + lemon CA, and (6) CCl₄ + A. niger CA. The CCl4 group exhibited a significantly higher MN frequency (0.06 ± 0.008) compa

Topological indices are numerical values connected with chemical molecular graphs that contribute to understanding a chemical compounds physical qualities, chemical reactivity, and biological activity. In this study, we have obtained some topological properties of the first dominating David derived (DDD) networks and computed several K-Banhatti polynomials of the first type of DDD.
Phenoxathiin was prepared by the reaction of diphenyl ether with sulfur in the presence of anhydrous aluminum chloride. This work comprised the synthesis of new phenoxathiin derivatives containing heterocyclic moieties. These heterocyclic compounds were synthesized in three groups. The first group was made up of 2-(oxoalken-1-yl) phenoxathiin derivatives (3a-3j) obtained from the reaction of 2-acetylphenoxathiin with different aromatic aldehyde in the presence of sodium hydroxide. The other two groups involved compounds produced from the reaction of (3a-3j) with hydrazine hydrate in acetic acid to get 2-(1-acetyl pyrazolin-3-yl) phenoxathiin derivatives (4a-4j), and phenyl hydrazine in the presence of piperidine to afford 2-(1-phenyl pyrazo
